A wonderful, old style hotel in the heart of San Jose. The owner was truly as sweet as she could be. She was welcoming, accommodated our stay with a discount for our 2nd day, as we needed rest before we took red-eye flights back home to Kentucky. The rooms were dated, but comfortable, with the bed very nice to sleep in. Of the 9 hotels we stayed in this was the only one that had a Gideon Bible in one of the drawers. A spirit refresher indeed! We bright colors along our trip that we were donating every stop we made, but this was different,as she accepted 8-9 pieces of clothes, and a couple cases of 6- pack water, without is having to look for a donation center around the city. There are lots of restaurants nearby within walking distance, San Jose is a beautiful, clean and vibrant city. The only negative about our stay, was that it was on the corner of 3 very busy streets, and there was constant revving of engines, backfires and urban inner city noise. We recommend having a noise making fan on your devices to drown outside the noises. We highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms are clean, but the air freshener smell is overwhelming. Be prepared for a real blow to your respiratory system. They should use a more neutral or gentler scent because if it’s the one they’re using, it’s awful. Would I go back? Maybe.

If you are in the mood for an old school Motel experience, this is the place.
I was initially attracted to the retro design and architecture of the building. Neon, slightly gaudy colors, and a cool sign intrigued me. The room doors are Flamingo pink and accented with blue neon. A huge plus for me was that this was clearly a locally owned, non-chain operation, and after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try.
There seemed to be just enough parking, a bit tight but doable for sure. The front desk staff was helpful, not overly friendly, but efficient.
I didn’t expect the most modern and up to date interior, and I wasn’t disappointed. Everything is dated, but as I said, I expected that. The room was clean, well made up, and stocked with coffee, soap, shampoo, and even an iron and full sized ironing board. The bed was comfortable, but could have used a fourth pillow. The pillows were a bit flat and all of the same type.
The only issue I had was that my room faced The Alameda, and there was some street noise, but I always sleep with earplugs and that took care of it. I would suggest that if you are sound sensitive, request a reset or interior room.
Would I stay here again? For sure, it is like stepping back to the 50’s and the heyday of motels.

Staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. Great location for food/events. Very clean room. Comfortable and had a little fridge. Will definitely stay here again next time I travel out there
