Avoid this place if you value sleep. Music was blasting the entire night – impossible to rest. After a sleepless stay, I checked out at 11:30am and was still charged an extra $25 for late checkout. No flexibility, no apology. For the price, you can do much better in SoMa.

I’ve stayed at quite a few budget hotels/hostels in my life, and I must say Winsor is one of my favorites. Everything was really clean, and the building has some charm… even equipped with an old-timey elevator I found to be quite fun.

Expedia.com really mucked things up for us. They said 3 people can stay in the room. We get here and the person at the check-in desk said only two people per room. They didn’t budge nor offer any sort of assistance, deals on rooms, or money back.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

The hotel location is a bit mixed.. it’s close to Market Street and the transit it provides. But there were people screaming at times in the alleyway next to the hotel along with car horns at random times.
The deal breaker was that I came to realize there was evidence of bedbugs on the headboard, although the mattress itself seemed clean enough, that I had missed when I arrived pretty tired the night before. So in the end I got to pay two nights for a one night stay as I choose to not risk another night even if in another room.

Stayed here for a quick break and really enjoyed the experience. The interiors are modern and well-designed. The room was cozy and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff ensured everything went smoothly during my stay.
