Our stay at the Skylark Shores resort was absolutely fabulous. I had my children and grandchildren and my mother four generations. We enjoyed the basketball courts, the horseshoe pit, the swimming pool, the tetherball, and the scenery all throughout the day and the green grasses and benches that were meandering through the trees at the Waters edge was absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend a stay here for a couple or family gatherings. We will come back for sure I would have events here thank you to all the staff our four day. Stay was absolutely fabulous! kind disregards, Kelly Murphy.
This is my fourth time staying at Skylark Shores Resort in Lakeport. Each time, we attended our family reunion. The resort is convenient for family members located in northern California, but from other locations, we flew to Sacramento and drove a rental car for about 2-3 hours. Once we arrived in Lakeport, the Safeway market and CVS are conveniently near by. Skylark grounds are well-maintained. The rooms are clean and everything was operating as expected. The only reason for 4 stars is because of the towels that were very thin, small, and non-absorbent. Is the towels in the bathroom get improved, I would readily give a 5-star rating. Also, the location of our room (114) must be very far from the water heater because we had to run the hot water faucet (including the shower) for several minutes before the hot water started to flow. Even though room 114 is next to the ice machine and laundry machines, there was no problem sleeping at night because there are signs on the property reminding guests that 10pm is the start of quiet time. I believe our family will hold the 2027 reunion at Skylark and we look forward to spending a few days to relax and enjoy the family visit.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The grounds are spacious, beautifully maintained, and truly inviting. We especially loved the graceful old trees throughout the property, with chairs tucked beneath them here and there—perfect spots to find shade on a warm day and simply relax.
Our guest room was comfortable, spotless, and welcoming. The location is absolutely breathtaking. We brought two kayaks and appreciated the excellent access and support for launching them. The hotel is also just a short walk from downtown, with a wonderful coffee shop conveniently located right around the corner.
We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!
I booked this hotel due to reccomendation from bride & groom back in February. Wedding was June in Kelsey. I wanted a lake view room. Nothing was available but they gave me a pool view room. I could see the fence of the pool through the many cars if I looked really hard. The room was clean but needs renovating. Bathroom is so small. Shower is small and handle on shower fell off in hubby’s hand. no counter space on sink. The bed was better than I originally thought it would be. The walls are super thin. The office staff a super friendly and very helpful. Not a luxury motel but it works for a couple nites.
Overall great. They have good wifi coverage and a conference room they let me take a zoom meeting in. There’s a small gym and horseshoes to chuck on the lawn while you watch local birds (hawk, heron, geese, ducks etc).
I wasn’t a fan of the shower, the door had a gap at the bottom so water got out before I noticed and got my stuff on the floor wet. The room was clean but not super cozy, the beds were alright but hard, the towels on the thinner side, everything was serviceable. Like they have a working coin laundry available, but barely and you better hope the office is stocked with quarters.
The location is great, loved the lakefront view and the solid blackout curtains letting me sleep in. Everyone working there was real nice
