We had 2 rooms 6/6/26, D2 and C2, both bottom floor rooms with balconies. One was a double and the other a king and beds were very comfortable. The gas fireplace was warm and cozy on a cool night, which was perfect after a long day of travel. We left it on and opened the tiny windows to listen to the ocean. The jacuzzi tub is huge and shower water pressure great! It is a clean motel! The ladies at the front desk were extremely kind and helpful! We would stay here again hands down. I wish they had continental breakfast for the price, but we ate at the café and it was great, so much food we could’ve split plates! The scones and blended coffees were fabulous too. All in all, we recommend staying here!!

Spectacular views! Quiet, comfortable, clean. I’ll stay again if I return to the area! They don’t seem to have online availability – email / call to make a reservation.

We had a lovely stay. The room was clean and very comfortable with a fabulous view of the river and the ocean.

This is our favorite place to go to for our Anniversary. Quiet rooms especially the upstairs ones and the view can’t be beat. The river in the foreground, Sandbar in the middle ground and the Ocean in background. And sound of the waves!! Two big chairs and binoculars to share. Plenty of windows to look out of…..
There is no phone in the room and limited reception in Gualala, so be prepared. Wifi is better than it used to be.
We usually sit and count seagulls (75) and Pelicans(30) on the sandbar. They are there for a spa treatment rinsing out salt in the river water. A few years ago we saw a bald eagle sitting around too. Then we start filling the big jacuzzi tub….. And a king-size bed
Tomorrow or next we will drive up the Mendocino Botanical Gardens…another favorite. And if you’re are spry don’t miss Bowling Ball Beach. Just be sure to check the tides so won’t get caught out there.
I almost don’t want this area to get too popular and become crowded but we are leaving California for good soon.

The location and view from the rooms upstairs are superb.

    Nice spa tub.

Sadly the beds are old and broken down to the point it impaired our ability to fully enjoy the trip. So stiff from the bed was unable to enjoy the days. Immediately better first night back home in a decent bed.

The rooms are fine, but the bath area has a Motel 6 feel and the furniture is cheap and old.

We didn’t use the TV, but it was tiny by any standard, and old. About the size of a large computer monitor.

Staff was very friendly, but they don’t service the rooms so you have to get your own supplies and fresh towels if you need them. Not a big deal, just FYI.

Room seemed clean, but bath floor was sticky. Hoping that was just a failure to fully rinse the cleanser.
