Given the mixed reviews, I still gave it a shot and did not regret. I love the ambiance in this hotel, the staff is nice and very attentive to your needs. I booked the Two-Double Beds room for 4 pax and it did not feel crowded at all. Room is spacious, clean, and has very comfortable beds.
The free breakfast could be better, we expected hot food but there was none and that’s okay. there are lots of option nearby if you want hot breakfast. I also love the fancy coffee machine at the lobby! Overall, I really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend:)

We just finished our stay at the Nob Hill Hotel in San Francisco, and I have to say, it was a much better experience than I initially expected. Having read some of the reviews beforehand, I was apprehensive about staying here, particularly regarding the location, but those concerns proved to be largely unfounded.
We stayed in a Deluxe King Room, which was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping did a very good job throughout our stay, and the room was clearly well looked after.
The hotel is situated in Lower Nob Hill, relatively close to the Tenderloin area. Some reviews make the surrounding area sound particularly unsafe, which I feel is an exaggeration. Like any major city, San Francisco has areas that are better than others, and it is sensible to plan your routes and be mindful of your surroundings, particularly at night. However, this is true of many cities, and we found the hotel itself to be well maintained and well positioned for exploring San Francisco.
Breakfast is fairly basic, with no hot food available, but the selection of pastries, toast, cereals and fruit was sufficient to start the day.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the Nob Hill Hotel. It was clean, comfortable and well looked after, and I would encourage anyone considering staying here not to be put off by some of the more negative reviews about the location.

I definitely would not class this as a 4 star hotel (unless, in room 310 I was given the worst room and everyone else’s was better!). No plug sockets unless you unplug the hot water maker/coffee pot or charge your phone in the sink. Certainly no socket by the bed. VERY noisy windows which sound like they’re open all the time. The street outside is not quiet. Also if travelling solo, be aware although the hotel is called Nob Hill it’s right in the edge of a deprived area and there are homeless and drunk people on the street outside.
The room was clean BUT I hated the bed sheets. The duvet/comforter was bare and just sandwiched between 2 plain cotton sheets which means it gets all tangled in the night and you end up sleeping against the comforter which everyone else has slept and sweat against. So gross.
Also, the breakfast is depressing as hell. Find a local cafe. Mouldy fruit. Thet provide quaker oat sachets but you have to queue at the coffee machine for hot water. See pics in general.
It was adequate.

Love, love love this hotel! I find it to be a perfect balance of style, comfort, and affordability. Just super Welcoming with a little touch of everything, a cozy outdoor front patio, cool ambient music, lovely coffee/eats in the morn. A super comforting, stylish vibe all around. And very well cared for. Love the cotton robes! Very nice staff. Just 3 blocks to van ness where you can get the golden gate bus to Marin. I found my little gem! Thank you NHH:)

I stayed on the fifth floor at the Nob Hill Hotel with my girlfriend for 2 nights. Overall not bad. Excellent hot chocolate/coffee machine in the lobby (which was free). The actual room wasn’t bad at all, aside from the window that didn’t lock with no screen or bars stopping people from falling out. The room seemed clean and we had two nice robes in the bathroom, which was quite modern. The continental breakfast consisted of toast, two cereals, an orange juice that can only be described as water with orange powder, as well as hardboiled eggs in some yellowish liquid on the bottom of the bowl. The roof top patio was nice and fenced in, so not much of a view other than the nearby hotel that projected dog videos on it. As for location, just don’t walk through the Tenderloin at night, the people there are not as friendly as you might expect. Due to the hotel’s location, yes you may hear occasional projected comments from the unhoused community as they pass by, but this was not noticible during the night.
Overall would stay again, just hope they learn how to arrange pillows on beds.
