had the most amazing stay at Mar Vista! Stayed in a 4 person cottage and it fit all of us perfectly. There is stocked kitchen will all the kitchen supplies you could need. They off food baskets at an additional cost and I highly recommend purchasing to add to your stay. The food was absolutely incredible! I recommend purchasing paper towels to bring and there is a local store in Gualala about 10 mins away where you can buy any other additional things you may need. The beds were incredible comfortable. I would recommend bringing your own body wash (personal preference). Try out ALL the activities they have to offer! The owners are incredibly sweet and take such a great job with upkeep and hospitality. They also offer additional retreat weekends I would take advantage of! Already planning my next visit back:)

One of my favorite get aways! We’ve been going to Mar Vista for years. It never disappoints. The current owners have made many improvements while keeping the original charm. It’s great for kids and it’s great for couples. I love going either way!

Our family had an amazing vacation at Mar Vista. It’s really an ideal place to bring little kiddos. My 3yo/7yo loved feeding the bunnies and collecting the chicken eggs. We did tons of nearby hikes and beaches and never got tired of fresh egg deliveries in the morning and the most delightful harvest-yourself-salads. Will definitely be returning!

A place you can truly enjoy alone, with a partner, or family. The owners Deanna and Cab call it a “labor of love” and everything about their property shows how much love and care they put into things. The grounds are beautiful and charming, the cottages are cozy and equipped with everything you would need for your stay, fresh eggs from the farm are delivered to your room daily, and the edible garden is filled with an assortment of seasonal fruits and vegetables you can pick from for meals in your cottage. It’s a peaceful and joyful place to stay along the Northern California Coast set in the perfect location for easy access to several beaches as well as visiting other small towns to the north of Gualala including Mendocino. This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Mar Vista Farm + Cottages. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

I love Mar Vista so much that I’ve been back 3 times in one year! I don’t usually go to the same place twice, but Mar Vista is the perfect blend of relaxing and fun. The views are gorgeous, the cottages are cozy, and the gardens are incredible.
The free-range chickens produce some of the most delicious eggs I’ve ever had, and they’re even better when delivered to the basket outside your door the night before. I love picking fresh herbs and greens in the garden to pair with the eggs, and we always start our visit by getting fresh flowers for our table.
Our 11yo year enthuses that it’s “cottagecore” and that the cats are great. Our jaded teenager loved picking up a goat and collecting eggs. Younger kids run wild and feed flowers to the bunnies. I feel safe sending my kid out to the creek alone. It’s truly idyllic for individuals, couples, and families.
Deanna and Cab are friendly and knowledgeable – the consummate hosts. I’m here now and already plotting our next visit!
