I think the filling of their black and blue pie is decent, but I am surprised they used a pate brise. Brise is for savory. A sucre would require an additional sweet dough, but I think it would be better. I get the depression era connection to grandmother, but that doesn’t mean it’s a tastier choice for the customers.

We found this place by accident coming from Fort Bragg and I’m so happy we did. I think this might be the best pie I’ve ever bought. I wish I lived closer to get another.

We stopped in on a trip to Willits and were treated to the most delectable delights at Kemmy’s Pies!
I got a carrot cake (amazing) and pecan pie and we were each gifted a cherry tussy to sample as first time visitors to the cafe. The mini cherries pies were also really yummy. I haven’t tried the pecan pie yet bc of sugar overload but I know that it will be top notch too.
