The Miss Scarlet room was musty and felt moldy. I didn’t have a good rest here. The receptionist was unfriendly. The rest of the hotel was Victorian and quaint, but I couldn’t wait to leave. Don’t stay here if you are sensitive to mold. None was visible but the smell was unmistakable.

I really enjoyed being able to attend this serial killer speakeasy. They featured four of the most fascinating male serial killers in america. The performers were on point iand captivating. They involved the audience and kept us on the edge of our seats. The drinks were very tasty and I can’t wait for them to come back and show me what else they could do.

Settle in, the back story is important:

Family is on a roadtrip way home. Plan was to stop in Crescent City after driving through the Redwoods. The driving just took too long (having to charge an EV). Canceled the reservation in Crescent City and was going to book at the Best Western or whatever. But while looking for a place to eat, I saw this gem. Now you’re up to date.

Everything about this place is like from a Wes Anderson movie; it’s perfect. Classic features: stained glass, carved wood, art, sconces, drapery ropes. The fellow at the front desk was super friendly and helpful and they had a nice, big room, with a king bed and foldout sofa bed. And then he brought us another bed for the other kid. Fantastic service (seems harder and hard to come by these days). The hotel was a block from the bay and walking distance to several restaurants (we chose a Mexican place across the street; it was delicious and the portions were overly filling).

Hoping to maybe catch some breakfast before we head out tomorrow, but I highly recommend it!!!!

This hotel is so cool and has such history! I loved that all the rooms are different and have so much character. I stayed here for business and was not disappointed! There was a light breakfast and a comfortable place to sit.

Beautiful rooms and building! This place has a cute area for food and drinks. The front desk clerk was kind and accommodating. There is a chocolate bar and brewery close by.
