We absolutely loved our stay at Hill House Mendocino! From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff made us feel so welcome with their genuine kindness and hospitality.
One of our favorite parts of the property was spending the evenings by the outdoor fireplace. Watching the sun set over the wildflowers was absolutely breathtaking…one of those moments that makes you stop and soak it all in. The atmosphere is peaceful, romantic, and incredibly beautiful.
Traveling with our 4-year-old, we appreciated how the property was both family-friendly and romantic at the same time. It gave us the perfect balance of making special family memories while still feeling like a relaxing getaway for the two of us.
A huge shoutout to Shellie at the bar and pizza restaurant! She was so warm, friendly, and made every visit feel special. And Tony makes some of the best pizza we’ve had on our entire trip…it’s a must try!
Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We left already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, Hill House Mendocino, for such a wonderful experience!

Just spent three days here and enjoyed it immensely. The newly renovated rooms are well designed and comfortable, with beautiful furnishings, and an excellent bed. We have to give a special shout out to Shelley, the bartender, who made sure that we were well taken care of at the bar. Also, the pizza is being made in house from scratch are very good as is the service.

Fantastic stay! The property is beautiful, excellent condition and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome throughout our trip. The only small heads-up is that calling it an “ocean view” might be a bit of a stretch depending on your room, but everything else was top-notch. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

It’s my first time here. I heard they just opened after a huge remodel to the whole property. This is definitely a modern hotel compared to the surrounding options and no complaints here. They offer free bike rental and picnic baskets and outdoor blankets by the way. I feel they should mention the baskets and blankets when you check in. I found out because i saw them on the table in the check in lobby. Amazing hotel and staff will be coming here every time.

Wonderful stay! It was a perfect location with gorgeous rooms and ocean views. Staff were great and had lots of recommendations and info about the area. Plenty of extra touches and amenities made it easy to relax on property! We would definitely stay again!
