We stayed at the Heritage House the first night of our families Pacific Northwest road trip traveling from San Francisco to Seattle over the course of 9 days. My wife and kids said “Dad is 1-0 for places to stay”, Dad for the win thanks to Heritage House. It was absolutely charming. Stunning cliffside views from our back room porch. The beds were so comfortable, I was able to sleep a solid 10 hours, which never happens back home. We had the most delicious dinner at their in-house restaurant. The Alaskan Halibut special while listening to an extremely talented local musician sing while we dined, made for a very memorable evening. Breakfast in the morning was super delicious and included with our nights stay. I give this place 6-Stars and will plan on staying here again any time we come through as a family. Thanks so much from the Hall Family.

Can’t wait to go back! The detail to attention in the rooms was incredible.
Service was great. We stayed there for 2 nights . You have complementary breakfast and every single room is ocean facing ! The estate is huge ~37 acres and beautiful to walk around . You have private beach access via the property.
Hands down one of my fav stays in the USA.
We dined at the in house restaurant one night. Recommend reserving to get a spot at one of the tables near the windows .
They have a full bar as well.
There are spa services which would need to book through the website and early since we didn’t get any availability for our stay there.
Overall highly recommend booking a stay here.

Amazing views, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast is really really good. The robes, slippers, and claw foot tube were nice to use. I only take points off because for such a highly rated and EXPENSIVE hotel I would expect near perfection. Our bathroom door didn’t close. It was a sliding pocket door and there was no handle to even pull it closed and then no latch to keep it closed, there was a piece of Velcro that is supposed to hold it closed, but it must have been worn down, because it didn’t work, the door kept coming open. The only other thing to decrease my star rating is that the walls are thin, we only had one neighbor, but they had a baby or toddler and they woke up at 7 am and started whining and then they started clapping. Which is just annoying on a luxury vacation when we finally get a chance to sleep in. I would just hope for my soundproof rooms at the price. The last thing is that the toilet paper was one ply. Overall, it’s still a spectacular hotel. Normally, little things like these don’t bother me, but at the price, I will write a review that highlights any shortcomings to make others aware in case they are make or breaks for other people.

Our stay at Heritage House Resort & Spa in Mendocino was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the property completely exceeded our expectations. It is honestly one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The views are breathtaking, the grounds are peaceful and well-maintained, and the entire atmosphere made it so easy to relax and enjoy every moment.
What really made our experience special was the incredible staff. They made sure we had a wonderful stay and felt genuinely welcomed throughout our visit. We ended up spending most of our time at the resort itself. We loved having access to the private beach and taking walks around the stunning property.
We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and it was an amazing experience. The food was excellent, the ocean view was absolutely beautiful, and the live music by Kendall Dean made the evening even more memorable. It created such a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing dinner.
Another highlight was the complimentary breakfast buffet included with the stay.
We would absolutely recommend Heritage House Resort & Spa to anyone visiting Mendocino and truly hope to return again in the future. Such a special place with an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

We came here for a 4 night stay with two adults and a toddler to explore the natural beauty of the area.
We were greeted by a night manager (Duck?) who handled our check in and provided a list of recommendations in the area. It was a seamless and quick process.
We stayed in a Sunset View room (room 17) and were treated to a spectacular view. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable and, while the winds can be chilly it was nothing that turning on the fireplace couldn’t solve. Another reviewer mentioned thin walls here and I’d attribute it to the ability to join the rooms in that specific cabin – while we could hear the occasional cough our neighbors were quiet and considerate.
We enjoyed the daily breakfast (eggs, fruit, waffles, and rotating specials) and relished in the live music on the weekends for dinnertime.
Overall the beauty of the property is unmatched, the private beach is a fun perk as is the large grounds with lawn chairs. Our toddler enjoyed exploring just as much as we did.
While there is WiFi around the property, I would be aware that cell service in the area generally is limited as are dining options for your other meals. I recommend doing a little shop in town and bringing goodies back to your room versus planning ad hoc.
This is a really well situated location to excellent hiking and nearby attractions. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend without hesitation.
