Couch is horrible and smells. Tried to ask front desk to move us as we are here two weeks no go! Now here are the unprofessional parts:
No kitchen sponge
No kitchen knives but steak knives. We actually cook on vacation so we had to walk to the office to get knives and they brought one!
Couch is horrible
Bed is not much better
Asked for a cleaning since we are here two weeks was told it was $50. I stated that we have two separate reservations didnt matter.
Toilet does not flush until you hold the handle down for almost a minute. Told they would come fix. Not yet been here for 6 days! No internet unless you pay for the onsite broadband. Absolutely no phone service.
Dont think we will come again which is sad because we had such high hopes.
Great location but that’s about it. This 3 star resort wasn’t able to get 3 stars because the room was just okay, the bed was uncomfortable and the room central heater did not work. The gas fireplace warmed the place up, but then it got stuffy and there was no way to regulate the amount of heat it was putting out. And I was really looking forward to using the hot tub but it is closed indefinitely for unknown reasons. I didn’t give it 1 star because it was at least clean upon arrival. I want to go back to Point Arena because the cliffs, beaches and views from the lighthouse are gorgeous. But I will be finding another place to stay.
Our dishwasher did not work. The front desk said they would send someone to fix it, but no one ever came. The hours for the office are extremely limited, and once they’re gone, you’re out of luck. They also won’t answer the phone 10 minutes before closing time. Pretty much everything in town closes down early, so make sure you have everything you need before 5 pm. The ‘full’ kitchen doesn’t include an actual oven, just a toaster/microwave oven combo. It’s unlikely we’d return here.
The rooms are compact but well equipped. Kitchen has everything needed for cooking basic meals, dishwasher is provided but is a little small. Fireplace and heating work great, ceiling fans are also present for warmer days. Only qualms are with the bed. The bedroom bed is ok, but the sofa bed is really bad. I can sleep in most places but that sofa bed was the exception – was very bad. I would recommend bringing an air matress if you have more than two people staying in the unit.
WiFi is paid but we did not use as we had good coverage with T-Mobile. We used our phones as hotspots and had no problems working from home using that.
Lots of things to do nearby, close to Mendocino, Ft. Bragg and lots of Coastal State parks nearby. The nearby public lands have vast trails that offer a lot of wildlife viewing opportunities.
This resort has, as advertised, individual cabins. Think of it as a one bedroom single wide manufactured home. This is very nice because you do not share any walls with other rooms, you have lots of quiet privacy. The setting is beautiful, quiet, and clean. Parking is right next your cabin. The grounds and the the cabins are both well maintained.
The queen size mattress was very soft and had a deep valley in the middle. Soft would be tolerable, however the valley in the middle was not acceptable to our sleeping habits.
Similarly, the couch in the living space is quite broken down. I didn’t expect luxury, because as advertised, it is a pull out bed. But when you sit on it the cushions are so worn out the you sink. We used the extra pillows in the room to make the couch somewhat more comfortable.
