Very, very dark when we entered and did not realize it was actually a pool hall. A little leery, at first, but the interaction we had with one customer, and the bartender was nice. You order your food through a window and the food was excellent. The cook was very nice and friendly. As well.
They have a sidewalk walk up window to order food to go. I would recommend doing this because the food was excellent.
Wonderfully enjoyable flavorful food that holds a history for the redwood valley and surrounding area residents. The owners share their personal connections and deeper investment in being a place of business that customers can count on serving quality food and offering service that feels like home! Thank you club Capella for sticking it out thru all the financial and health issues of these last 10+ years you are so appreciated!
I was just walking around downtown ..turned the corner and this guy and gal are arguing about which restaurant has the best food, right there on the sidewalk! The Guy is yelling the Mutt Hutt! and the Gal is yelling the Club Calpella Restaurant!
Well, I was looking for a place to eat, so I figured I’d just wait around to see who wins the argument, pretty soon a croud gathered, and all the women are yelling for the Club Calpella and the dudes are yelling the Mutt Hutt! I’m there about 10 minutes and it goes fist to cuff! Those women won the fist fight with a standing 8 count in the first round, with 4 dudes played out on the sidewalk! It helped that each one of those gals out weighed their opponent by a good 50 pounds, another key factor was they were all from the same reservation so they know all the tricks to beating up their men! I took it as an omen and went straight to the Club Calpella Restaurant, and had an amazing dinner! 5 stars for sure! ☆☆☆☆☆
This place is a gem. Great service thanks Travis B, simple old school bar/restaurant that has a ton of great options. Bison burger was cooked perfectly. The shrimp wrap was delicious and having these shrimp options shows they get their food from the source.
Upgraded to the beer battered fries and ate every single one of them.
Good cocktails, cold beer.
After what seemed like a long time ago, we returned to Club Calpella since we were in the area. It’s a hidden gem. If you didn’t know where it was, you might drive right past it. I’m just glad it survived the lockdown. Many good places didn’t. From the street, the actual door is to the far right of the building, but you can go thru the bar to get to the restaurant. The bathrooms are well kept for a bar/restaurant. It can be pricey. Not many restaurants that aren’t. Even fast food. We got the appetizer platter, 2 drinks, 2 burgers with salads (which is extra with meals), and that cost us 70. But we had leftovers which covered another meal altogether so it was worth it. The food was really good, tho my burger wasn’t as well done as I prefer, it was still very yummy. They even had honey mustard for moms salad, which even our favorite diner in town doesn’t have. Food was made promptly, tho it wasn’t that busy, and it was early afternoon, so take that as you will. The waitress was really nice and helpful. All in all, it was quite a delicious and fun experience.
