Great spot to break away from a day at the beach. Take the kids. Self paced tour was nice. We fed the giraffe as well. Knowledgeable staff and friendly. Not all animals were sociable, as they “hid” in their shelters.

We had booked the VIP tour and had a great experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the animals in the preserve and they answered all our questions. The lodging was good, the cottage we stayed in was rustic (from the early 1900s) and we got to enjoy the beautiful views of the landscape. There was only one bathroom though, so if you are coming here with a large family, you might have issues taking turns using it . A few gripes we had was the cleanliness of the dishes in the cabinets, and also the lack of restaurants in the preserve or in the town. It would be nice to at least have a vending machine in the preserve. All in all, I would recommend visiting at least once.

We visited B. Bryan Preserve during our trip and had such a memorable experience!
We booked the guided tour, which started right on time at 3:30 PM, just as promised. The tour was very well organized, and we got to see a variety of animals while learning so much about them. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail, making the experience both fun and informative.
As many others have mentioned, the tour vehicle is a bit small for taller individuals. My husband is 6’1”, so it was a little uncomfortable for him at times. However, it wasn’t a big issue since we got down frequently to see the animals up close, which made it much easier.
The absolute highlight of the visit was feeding the giraffes — they are sooo cute, and it was such a unique and heartwarming experience! I truly loved spending time there.
Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area!

I wouldn’t go out of your way to visit this place, like don’t drive hours just to come here. If you’re in the area and looking for something to do, or have time to kill, then it’s fine to spend an hour here, especially if you have kids. They’ll like it, they dont notice the other stuff. I definitely wouldnt come here just as adults without kids, but if you’re in the area, or need a pitstop, have the spare cash and it’s not pricey for you, it’s something to do.
The giraffe feeding is the highlight obviously, but that is a bit rushed and takes less than a minute. To be honest the giraffes look whack with their huge testosterone lumps on their head.
The tour itself is meh, you drive around the enclosed area but it’s just like a zoo with the animals behind wire (but you get to be a bit more close up than a zoo). The jeeps are seriously tiny, and Im 5″2. You can’t even see out of them they are that cramped.
Im also comparing this experience to Safari West so any other “safari” pales in comparison. I would drive hours out of your way to experience that safari and stay overnight.
There are more things to do once you arrive, activities like movie night, s’mores making, dinner and lunch etc. And you get to walk the grounds. The jeeps you drive around are more open and have an upstairs seating area!
At B.Bryan Preserve you basically park your car where there are 3 parking spots (dont’ park anywhere else or you’ll get barked at!), wait in an old reception area with outdated merchandise. You are (NOT) greeted by the owner Judy, who is super grumpy and rude and just walks around that reception area scowling at the guests, especially the kids. I think she highly dislikes kids as you just see her bark at the kids who are waiting for the tour. Don’t arrive too early as there is nothing to do.
She seems like she’s just over it all, pumping out tours all day, having to deal with kids and people etc. She should not be customer facing lol. If you sort these google reviews by lowest rating first, you can see Im not the only one who thinks this.
So it was a nice surprise to see the tour guides super vibrant and happy and friendly in contrast. They seem to really enjoy what they do. I thought having seen Judy upon arrival, the whole thing was going to be ruined by the staff. Nope, it’s just Judy. But if you can stay away from her, it’s all just fine in the end. Something to do, gives you an hour to kill, fun feeding giraffes, but dont go out of your way to go visit this place.
