A beautiful suite and a kind team, with a few details to polish

I felt really grateful to stay at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco. It’s a lovely historic building, and my suite was beautiful – I really loved the decor and the space, and the layout was so thoughtful.

What I loved:
– The suite’s decor, spaciousness and layout, with dimmable lighting and a generous wardrobe
– The mirror by the door had great lighting for getting ready
– The staff were kind to me and clearly trying, and the service got even better as the week went on. The doormen were lovely and the housekeepers were polite
– The team, particularly Denny and his colleague went above and beyond in helping me check in early, which made such a difference after my flight
– The gym was excellent, I was a fan of the dry roasted almonds
– It was quiet and the room a welcome retreat
– Breakfast was decent, and the free coffee was appreciated

A few things to polish:
– Service was a little inconsistent early in my stay (Sat/Sun) – doors weren’t always opened, and it felt a touch less personal than I’d hoped
– The outlets were tricky as an international guest. They sit on the appliances with very little clearance – I had to lift and tilt the lamp to fit my adapter, and the outlet next to the bed couldn’t be used at all as the lamp was too heavy, so I borrowed a US plug. One side of the couch outlet and USB port also weren’t working. I had to use the bathroom port until I was able to find a US plug.
– I was in pain one evening and asked for a hot water bottle. The lady on the phone was absolutely lovely, but they didn’t have one and suggested DoorDash. I’d hoped they might offer an alternative, like a cup of tea, to help me feel better
– The bath salts and mouthwash weren’t restocked, and turndown didn’t happen every night
– The velvet couch triggered my allergies and gave me a rash, so I couldn’t sit on it – worth knowing for sensitive guests
– Smaller things: the bathroom lighting was quite warm for makeup, and some furniture could use a refresh

Overall, a lovely stay in a beautiful suite, and I’m grateful for the care the team showed me. With a little more consistency and a few room updates, it would truly shine.

We stayed here for our wedding weekend and honestly it was perfect. The place is beautiful, the lobby alone is worth walking through, and our suite was big, comfortable, and quiet even with everything going on. The staff knew it was a big weekend for us and they were on i, little touches in the room, quick with anything we asked for, always friendly. Coming back to the hotel after the wedding and just being taken care of was exactly what we needed. Great bed, great shower, great people. We’ll be back for our anniversary for sure.

Had a decent 3 night stay. It was a beautiful building and close to all my tour meeting spots. Front desk employees and bellhops were average. Room was clean and bartenders and housekeeping were good. The fitness room was excellent and probably one of the highlights of my trip. It was clean, bright, and well stocked.
