So disappointed, I arrived at earlier and checked in earlier (around 3:30pm), however got a room where was closed with 2 restrooms and 1 ice making machine, that’s why UNABLE to sleep!
Entered the room, the 1st image was very smelly!!! (even I open thewindow all day long)
On table, no chair but a big bed.
What a “wonderful ” experience!
It’s a shame for a beautiful Victorian style building operating in a fantastic location.

AVOID THIS HOTEL — TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Yes, the hotel is centrally located, but honestly, I would never stay here again.
The streets around the hotel are full of homeless people, many of whom are sleeping right outside the entrance. It is genuinely heartbreaking to see, and the whole area feels very unpleasant.
Forget about the Wi-Fi. It simply doesn’t work. We complained over and over again, but nothing was resolved. The hotel feels like a bunker with absolutely no connection. You can’t even send a simple WhatsApp message. Completely unacceptable in this day and age.
And if you think you might get some sleep, think again. We stayed in room 404, right above a Mexican bar that starts playing extremely loud music in the afternoon and keeps going late into the night. Sleeping was practically impossible.
Want to take a shower? Good luck with that, too. There are only TWO showers for approximately 20 rooms per floor. You can imagine the queues and inconvenience.
The location is the only positive thing about this place. Everything else was a disappointment: no Wi-Fi, no proper sleep, and inadequate shower facilities.
I could list a thousand more things, but I’ll keep it simple: save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel.

The Mosser is an affordable hotel place for solo travelers who go out do things and then come back shower, sleep. I’ve tried both private bathroom rooms and rooms that don’t have bathrooms ( you go to hall on the same floor to use shared bathrooms with other which are already clean) I don’t understand why some people complain in the review section. If you want a fancy places, then there are many other places around. The Mosser tries its best to give us such good price for this market in San Francisco downtown area. You can sometimes hunt good deals on other websites which are legit. The receptionist staff are very fast and can help you in person or calls. You can ask to leave your luggage before you check in or after you check out. If the rooms in some hot days, you can turn on fans. They provide towels and bath gowns in each rooms. Location is ideal if you wanna grab quick stuff at Target, Starbuck, Traders Joe, Ross, Whole-foods… I would definitely come back again if I visit again.

Excellent choice for budget friendly adventure seeking in SF! We enjoyed how close the property is to subway and bus routes, making it easy to get to lots of places in the city. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. We had a nice view of 4th street with beautiful windows. Only complaint is there is no fridge in the room and one piece of ice from the machine had a black spot. We will be staying here again!

Not bad, very aesthetically pleasing compared to your typical hotel. A little old, but that’s part of the charm I think. My only main concern was that the walls and doors had dirt on them that could have easily been wiped, or washed. So I think it’s worth it to have a deeper clean. Aside from that the walls were also thin as I could hear all of the environment around me. Overall, not bad experience and aesthetic.
