Update:
Revising my previous review. Management has resolved to make the situation right, and for that I give credit.
I have increased from 1 star to 2 stars. Ultimately I still cannot recommend this hotel. I was told there is no lost and found policy, and their standard operating procedure is to discard items left in the room (unless they seem particularly valuable).
If you are willing to take that chance that you might forget something and it will be discarded immediately without contacting you, then I will say the hotel is in a good location and the room is serviceable (if a l little hot) with good water pressure.
But I personally prefer a hotel that is properly staffed and that has a reasonable lost and found policy.

In my rush, I left some personal items in the room. After being on hold most of the morning, I was told my items were thrown in the trash.
They said they will not do anything about it. I said that was unacceptable and I’ve never heard of a hotel doing business this way.
I am waiting to hear back, but this review stays until the situation has been resolved to my satisfaction.

I visited San Francisco on a busy weekend and paid over $300 per night for this hotel. It was the cheapest I could find, but far from worth it for the price.
Room: The room size was fine, but everything about the room and building just felt old. Loud, creaky, uneven floors, loud bed anytime you shift around, outlets that didn’t work, toilet didn’t flush well. The provided shower curtain was about a foot too short and didn’t actually cause water to drain into the bathtub/shower, and instead it drained onto the floor, leaving a soaking wet floor after every shower. I could mop this up with towels, but since my room was never serviced, I ran out of towels to use for that the first day I was there.
The doors block almost no sound, and there were random beeping noises from the hallway, as well as any time someone would walk down the hallway it was very loud.
Service: They didn’t even provide me with hand soap or any body wash. I had to go to a local Walgreens just to get the basics. Their shampoo and conditioner was separated to the point I was getting only half of the product.
There is no front desk, and I wasn’t aware of this until after booking. You have to check in a block up the street.
I stayed for 3 nights and my room was never serviced.
Location: The location is very close to Union Square. It is convenient if you want to do things around there, and it is near the Bart. It is also near the Tenderloin, so be careful when leaving the hotel that you don’t route yourself into a dangerous or sketchy area. Despite the area being busy, noise from the street was not very noticeable. I was on a high floor, though, so lower floors may be worse.
Would very much not recommend this place.

Very minimal room, while the bed is made well, the room was very dusty I can wipe off my fingers. The building has a smell to it, maybe old or the carpet. The share bathroom was not adequately warned. And while checking in the receptionist also said it is a “you have a private bathroom outside the room” made me question but I didn’t say anything. But it is clearly a shared bathroom with other rooms. The share bathroom is very dirty with stains on the floor. WiFi connections is so weak it doesn’t even work. Since there is no ac the room gets stuffy but we couldn’t open the windows cause it was just not clean. Would not recommend or return.

I love the location; it’s very convenient to commute and walk to our destination. The room is wide and comfortable. I love eating by the window, but the Wi-Fi and signal are very slow in our room. Their water made my hair dry and my skin super itchy.
