Food was DELICIOUS! We were so excited to try this place and dove into our dishes before we remembered to take pictures. It was that good! We got the guacamole 10/10. Carne Asada tacos 10/10. Chips and salsa 10/10 and thank you for the seasoning salt on the chips! It was different and delicious! Sizzling Baja Plate and I did carne asada. 9/10 but because I didn’t realize there was a scoop of butter on top when came out and I don’t like the rice, also buttery. But that’s just my tastes, will order again and ask for no butter on the carne and I bet 10/10. Overall, absolutely coming back. Service was fantastic, drinks delicious, food came out quick too! And we sat out in the patio to watch sunset.

OMG, I would give more than 5 stars if I could–starting with our cordial waiter, Trey, to the delicious Chicken Tinga Enchiladas, this restaurant was amazing. We sat on their outdoor patio, which is dog friendly, and ordered guacamole, fresh and garnished with pomegranate seeds. It appeared miraculously fast after we ordered. The Cadillac Margarita was great, and we got endless refills of our Coke Zero glasses. This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time–I recommend it without reservation, but yes, make a reservation!

We rode up as a group of four motorcyclists from Orange County and had an awesome lunch here. The staff was super friendly, service was fast, and the patio atmosphere was perfect. The chips and salsa were fresh, the guacamole was excellent, and all our dishes (fish tacos, enchiladas, carne asada) were delicious. Ice-cold beers made everything even better. Great spot in Del Mar-we’ll definitely be back.

Highly recommend visiting Tamarindo for their fantastic Happy Hour menu! (Everyday 3-5:30pm)
We made a visit on a weekday so it wasn’t busy at all. We brought our baby in a stroller and the restaurant was fairly stroller-friendly, even while sitting at the bar.
For drinks we opted for non-alcoholic beverages, Del Sol and Watermelon Zero-Rita. Both were beautiful drinks and so refreshing!
For food we got their Elote Avocado Bites, Chicken Street Tacos, Beef Sliders, and Cubano Rolls. Everything was tasty, and my favorites were the Elote Avocado Bites and Cubano Rolls. The avocado bites included large slices of avocado and I loved the tanginess in the Cubano Rolls.
The portions were pretty hefty for a happy hour menu and we left stuffed!
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive! We found paid parking in the garage behind the restaurant.

A Gem in Del Mar!
I had a fantastic experience at Tamarindo in Del Mar! If you’re looking for a spot with great vibes and even better food, this is it.
The Service: Our server, Brad, was exceptional. He was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal, making sure we had everything we needed without ever being overbearing.
The Food: The short ribs were the highlight—absolutely tender and cooked to perfection. We also tried the chipotle pasta, which was packed with bold, delicious flavor.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. We will definitely be back!
