First of all how crazy for google to make me go to maps to review this. Second I asked the bartender to recommend their favorite margarita and turns out that was the margarita that is not on the menu and costs almost 1.5-2x the price (20 or so dollars) of any of the margs on the menu for 11 to 15 dollars and then I get charged for 3 tacos instead of two and when I ask about why I was charged for the taco trios I was told that’s two tacos even I know basic Spanish and inquired again and was then charged for two tacos (dos). Good food but questionable practices make this a no go for me

San Agus is a Very Solid 4.5 and a Keeper!

We chose this place because I others on Google Maps liked it, and welcoming were looking for a place that was open and had good beer. (Spoiler alert: We found good beer!)

Father’s Day looking for something good before our continuing activities, and San Agus was open and not far from where we’re were going.

Was recommended the weekend special (slow smoked ribs) and the La Carnita Asada (chicken, steak, and chorizo). Both dishes were very good! My wife isn’t big in chicken and I’m so-so with chorizo, but it was all great! The chicken was obviously marinated (not just cooked with spices put on top), and the chorizo was REAL chorizo (not the tasteless crap usually served) and very tasty.

We topped the meal off with two yummy draft beers (a hazy IPA and Mexican lager) that went well with our food.

Downtown Palo Alto has a lot of very good restaurants, and if your in the mood for very good Central American food, I can highly recommend San Agus.

This is more than just another mexican restaurant! The food was carefully prepared with interesting touches. For example the delicious carne asada tacos had crisp cheese around the steak on a hand made corn tortilla with other. Perhaps slightly pricey, but wow! I can’t wait to try their other tacos. Margaritas, guacamole and chips were excellent too

Such a great find in Stanford. Nothing over the top, just a nice neighborhood bar with good cocktails and great food. It’s the kind of place you’ll love if you appreciate good vibes over glitz.

I had stopped by to grab some food and drinks with my coworkers and it was honestly such a fun experience as the menu was unique and the drinks were really refreshing/paired well with the food.

The service was laid-back, which allowed us to enjoy each other’s company and there’s easy access to parking in the nearby streets. since we also stopped by at a fairly early time during the day, it wasn’t as busy, but towards the end of our visit it did get busier. ambiance was relax and quite quaint.
