Sabor a Mexico is hands down my favorite place in town for fish tacos! I chose to celebrate my birthday there with 40+ people, and they went above and beyond to make it special. From the adorable decorations and delicious birthday cake to the customized birthday menu, amazing food, bomb margaritas, and outstanding service, everything was perfect. Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or a place to host a big celebration, this is the spot. They made my birthday so memorable!
I’ve never sent food back before until today. Camarones a la crema was GROSS! It tastes like honey mustard smothering the shrimp. The rice tasted like Uncle Bens Spanish Rice from a box. $90 later and I left with a decent drink but starving. My husband’s portion of fajitas was enough to feed my 3 year old niece. It was TINY. 8 small pieces of beef, 3 small shrimp, 6 small pieces of chicken. We had to stop at a food truck on the way home because we never ate dinner after spending $90z I will never go back. That was the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Taco Bell would have been a better option, and I haven’t eaten there in nearly a decade and a half. I feel awful saying this about a local business, but this was SO expensive and the worst food I’ve had from a restaurant in my whole life. I can’t believe we were still charged in full for this meal. Incredibly disappointing. I recommend going literally anywhere else in town besides this spot.
The food was excellent, very authentic flavors. The bean dip with a hint of chorizo is to die for.
Everything seems to be made to order. So that means that you have to wait just a bit for your food to be made.
The ambiance was friendly and family oriented.
We had chilaquiles and tacos and the were delicious.
We were on our way to Corning, CA and stopped for lunch. The chips and Salsa were delicious.
This place doesn’t disappoint and it’s easy access off the 5 fwy.
We are from Los Angeles and 100% recommend this place.
So these guys have been open for 5 months I think Kurt said. His wife, Yesenia did an amazing job on my Carne Asada Burrito. It was very unique and the meat was not like “all the other mexican resaurants”, which is a GOOD thing! The Salsa was VERY good, close to the best I have had in a while, great consistency with a smokey flavor. The chips were also perfectly done. I must bring the kid back for their Shrimp specials since he likes shrimp so much!
One last thing, Kurt (not Kobain) and I had a VERY interesting conversation about real things, and it was quite refreshing! Keep up the good work Kurt and Yesenia!
