The food here was very vibrant, authentic, and beautiful. Their self-serving chips and salsa bar was a very nice set-up. Atmosphere was a bit too loud especially while trying to order food, but cashier was very welcoming and friendly. We sat outside on their patio, which made the loudness more bearable. Glad they were open on the Fourth of July!
The free chips aren’t very good, but hey, they’re free. The pork belly bites are absolutely amazing, burritos (super and California) were both good but nothing special. Great house drinks, server was excellent.
Had the alpastor plate with a margarita. The food tasted good with the different salsa options. There’s outdoor picnic table seating that we got sit with our dog which is a huge bonus for us. The tamarind margarita was so-so, it was made with the lemonade mix that was sitting on the counters. It was fine though, maybe not worth $13. It mainly caters to students it seems, they have a discount for students.
Solid mexican restaurant. I foolishly chose the burrito; next time I will try their lunch plates and soups which looked better.
The ambience is nice, and there is a huge selection. It has a nice vibe which college students would like.
I ordered a specialty burrito to-go and it was a bit underwhelming. I think their plates look a lot better, and that’s something I will have to try next time instead of ordering to-go. The chips and salsa was okay as well.
The service was good, and the store colors are vibrant. There are many other solid mexican restaurants in Davis (e.g. Guad), but be sure to give this place a try.
I got the breakfast burrito and horchata, and my partner got the california burrito and piña agua fresca. we got the churros to share and the chips + salsa were self serve and free of charge. the breakfast burrito was so good but got a bit messy from the chorizo oil. I really liked it with the jalapeño ranch. the churro came out first so it would still be hot to eat and tasted great. the horchata was nice and refreshing.
the music is a bit loud but you should be able to talk fine. the person working the counter was really friendly and accommodating, they offered us menus since we were having a hard time reading the one on the wall.
I’d love to come here again and try something new 🙂
