Since the new owners took over we have lost the arcades, the talking bear, the talking tree, the fortune teller, a lot of good menu items and some of the fun items that were formerly for sale in the dome. The playground has not been repaired and we have seen zero improvements to the place. We were optimistic when this was purchased a few years ago but the charm and things that made this place unique are quickly slipping away.

    ⭐ **1 Star — Extremely disappointing**

We were incredibly disappointed with our stay at Lake Siskiyou Resort this year; especially given the price point for the large cabins. The property is dirty, rundown, and in serious need of maintenance.

We stayed in Cabin 13 and 14. The bunk beds were so narrow that they felt unsafe. In cabin 13, there was no safety rail for the top bunk and when I reported the issue, I was told there was nothing they could do. My 12 yr old daughter ultimately had to sleep on the floor. That alone was unacceptable.

The floors were filthy when we arrived, and the refrigerator wasn’t working. After a five-hour drive, the last thing we wanted to deal with was immediately calling maintenance and trying to get the cabin into livable condition.

The cabins look like they are literally rotting away. I honestly expected better after hearing about the new management. It doesn’t appear that anyone from corporate has done a proper walkthrough. The only saving grace was the natural beauty of the lake with majestic Mt. Shasta in the background!!

We will never return and cannot recommend this resort to anyone. We are also canceling our July 2027 reservation. I truly hope management takes a serious look at the condition of this property and the experience they are providing guests.

This place was a mixed bag. The lake and views were stunning! The amenities were many and they were great for families/children. The camp sites were unpredictable, some were spacious, shaded and flat, others were cramped, sloped and exposed. One important thing to note, the noise rules at night are not enforced. Every night at 10 the whole camp ground would errupt into howling for 5 minutes. Then it remained very active loud until about midnight (mostly due to the group sites). This didn’t bother my family because we had several teenagers with us and we didn’t have to reign them in like normal because other sites were WAY more active and noisy. If you have little ones who would wake easy or if you can’t sleep hearing other campers laughing and partying and playing music- this may not be the place for you.
On the other hand, if you like a family friendly place with little oversight from camp hosts and a gorgeous lake to enjoy- this is it :).

I am giving this campground 3 stars because of the beautiful lake, the large beaches, the spacious campsites, and the delicious pizza at the camp restaurant. If I were rating only the bathrooms, excessive noise, and off-road e-bikes, it would be a 1-star review.

We arrived Thursday afternoon, and the bathrooms were about what you would normally expect at that point in the day. By Friday morning, they were showing heavy use, although it appeared they may have been cleaned sometime that day. Unfortunately, the restrooms are very old and have years of built-up grime, so even after being serviced they never felt truly clean.

By Friday evening, the bathrooms had deteriorated again, and from that point until we left Sunday morning, there was no evidence that they were maintained at all. They ran out of toilet paper and soap, trash cans—including the small bins in each women’s stall—were overflowing, and miscellaneous items were left scattered throughout the restrooms. The campground was completely full, and this wasn’t the result of vandalism. The facilities were simply receiving heavy use and needed to be cleaned and restocked.

Another disappointment was the noise. Evidently, the campground allows large group events and even concerts. On Saturday night, one group held what amounted to a full concert. I enjoy live music, but when I go camping, I’m hoping to hear nature—not amplified music late into the evening.

Finally, off-road e-bikes and small motorcycles were everywhere. Many riders, including children, were traveling through the campground without much supervision, and resort staff did not appear to be enforcing any rules. It often felt unsafe to walk around without watching for fast-moving bikes.

This campground has so much potential because of its beautiful setting and spacious campsites. However, better restroom maintenance, stricter enforcement of quiet hours and e-bike rules would make for a much better camping experience.

We used the resort as a place to stop on the way home. We were excited for a lake to cool off and a view of Mount Shasta, which is definitely picturesque. However, that is where the beauty ended.

We stayed at a full hook dirt site amongst the trees with plenty of other people steps away. The site was difficult to find and the only map you can use is the one that you get online. They will not give you a paper map. We like to collect our paper maps for future to highlight sites we like, but that was not a possibility here.

In fact, upon checking in, the woman herding the campers and RVs coming in was quite rude. We had a reservation. We did our homework. The greeting was shockingly disrespectful. We met a nice couple with their dog at the lake, and they shared a similar experience.

The bathrooms were positively disgusting. There was dirt and toilet paper all over the place and generally gross. For the price, it was extremely expensive for what you get. I understand that in the summer it gets busy, but the resort needs to compensate for that given the cost.
