The servers were nice, we just didn’t get checked on much and they forgot something, no biggie.
The atmosphere is not my personal favorite. It is a very open space and you sit right by the bar. Don’t expect any privacy, even with the booths! My personal preference is something more secluded (not entirely, but I just prefer to have some space from other tables). To each their own though, this is just my preference
The main hitter here is the food; I was not a fan. I obviously knew I was walking into an extremely gentrified mexican restaurant but I just expected more flavor from the food. My mother and I didn’t like it (we got fish tacos), but my sister found the food okay (she got carne asada fries). I also didn’t like the salsas lol
This was our first time at La Puerta, and we will definitely be back! We arrived around 9:30 AM on Sunday, making us the first brunch customers of the day. We were greeted right away, and our server, Paula, brought us menus and fresh water immediately.
The menu offers a great variety for brunch. We decided on the Chilaquiles with red salsa and the Carnitas Pancakes. The portions are very generous—the pancakes come as three huge, fluffy cakes that two people can easily share. Both dishes were packed with flavor, and we were thoroughly pleased with both the food and service.
A quick tip: ask for a side of the green salsa because it’s delicious! We also tried a House Margarita, which did not disappoint.
Overall, with a great menu selection, friendly and attentive staff, and a family-friendly atmosphere, La Puerta is a must-try for your next weekend brunch.
Considering that we showed up at 6pm on a Saturday with a group of 8 and no reservation, they worked miracles to get us a table immediately with zero wait. Shawn and Taylor were both stellar. All the food was fresh. The appetizers were yummy, try the potato and cochinita flautitas.
All the drinks were good.
The tacos were of good portion and very fresh. Came out nice and hot. All of them were yummy—from the pork to the pollo to the carne asada or the shrimp. You can’t go wrong.
Pricing was great too. Under $300 for 8 people including tip. We sat outside and it was very pleasant. Indoors seemed deafeningly loud.

The happy hour here is great! Affordable bites and drinks, not crowded. Very comfortable seating, kept cool even on the hottest day of the year.
