I hate giving bad reviews, but I will when it’s deserved.
The only reason I gave the food two stars is because the quesa birria taco was decent, other than that, everything else was not good.
The order took way too long to prepare.
When I finally received it, the food did not taste fresh.
The meat and the tomatoes in my carne asada burrito tasted old, like it was leftover from a day or two before.
The machaca burrito tasted just as bad and half if it was thrown away.
The red and green sauces that came with it, made it taste even worse.
I have paid much less money and received far better food at other places around San Diego.
La Fachada, that’s a hard NO for me.

If you want authentic Mexican food that tastes homemade and full of love, La Fachada is the place. It’s a tiny little hole-in-the-wall family owned spot that may not look fancy, but WOW does the food deliver. Everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and genuinely authentic. The portions are generous, the prices are super reasonable, and your stomach and wallet will both leave happy. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Don’t let the small appearance fool you. This place is a hidden gem!

We got a large horchata, varios tacos, and a huarache. Everything was flavorful and we enjoyed every bite. The salsas were good. The horchata had a silky smooth texture to it and a flavor profile I’ve never had with horchata, I would definitely reccomended trying it! Everyone was so kind as well from the woman who helped take our order to the cook – they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We would love to go back.
