I fly from out of state regularly just to eat here!! It is the best burrito I’ve ever had. I Started eating here as a teenager almost three decades ago when I lived nearby and It’s still as good as it was then!! Chicken deluxe burrito with whole beans and mild salsa is all you need.

La Cumbre Taqueria has incredible Mexican food. We especially love their chicken burritos! We have been going to this establishment for years. Most recently we had La Cumbre cater our grandson’s 2nd Birthday celebration. Everything was made to perfection with enormous portion sizes, and the prices are very reasonable. Most of all, our guests truly enjoyed their burritos. A must visit destination for any occasion.

The food and overall experience in San Mateo were extremely disappointing. I went there today for lunch, and there was a woman who was incredibly rude. She served my son and me with a bad attitude the entire time and seemed very unwilling to explain the menu. She was working with a young male employee who was completely unprepared.
Our order was very simple
one regular combo plate and two extra corn cakes. The plate included salad, and then a cook inserted herself into the conversation without being asked, which created even more confusion. I spent more than 15 minutes just trying to place a basic order, until finally two polite young women stepped in and helped.
To make matters worse, the food was not fresh. The rice tasted like it had been made five days ago.
If you are looking for quality service, ‘La Cumbre Tortilla’ is not the place. Consider this a warning to the owners: people like this damage the reputation built through a lifetime of hard work.”

The last time I went there was exactly the last time I will ever go there. Note, I have been going there for years. Most of the time I received good food and good service. I don’t know what the deal is now. But my friends and I were practically the only people in the restaurant and it took about 20 minutes to get our food nothing complicated very straightforward order. I was wondering what took so long but I saw the staff congregating and enjoying a pizza. It seemed like they couldn’t be bothered to provide good service and when the food finally came out, it was lukewarm. No excuses for this. They used to be my go to place now. I take my business elsewhere. I’m sad to see this place has gone downhill. Mediocre Mexican food doesn’t cut it when you’re surrounded by other great places and that end of B Street is essentially a barrio with tons of great Mexican food.

Been coming here ever since I was a kid and have always loved it! Even in college I look forward to coming back to have La Cumbre. Their burritos are always amazing and they have great service; it’s super fast and efficient. We usually order takeout because there aren’t that many spots to sit inside but their outdoor seating is cute!
