The staff is super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Parking isn’t too bad since it’s in the same plaza as Northgate. The food is pretty expensive for what it is. The beans taste good and doesn’t taste like the canned ones. The rice is pretty good but nothing crazy. The chicharrón taco ended up not being as flavorful as I’m used to. The mole taco was actually lacking in flavor completely. The governador was actually incredible. I would definitely come back for that one specifically and it’s a big reason why I just couldn’t put this place lower than 3 stars. I would highly recommend it. The birria tacos did not come with consume and they tasted very dry. The agua frescas are natural and are a bit on the sweeter side. They’re made with cane sugar as well. Overall it was an experience.

Ordered chilaqueles. Great costumer service very friendly but can’t say much about the food. Nothing authentic about the dish. Literally tortilla chips out of a bag therefore no grain corn flavor just greasy salty chips. Green Sauce lacks herbs and roasted chili taste. Sadly was very blan and portion was small for $17 Expensive for a plate of about 10 chips layed flat with green sauce and 2 eggs on top with a bit of beans on the side. Doesn’t qualify to be considered authentic chilaquele. By far.

I am slightly disappointed. So I enjoy the food and had eaten here a few times. About four weeks ago, I came in with my husband to eat and inquire about a catering job. I own a business in Long Beach and needed to feed about 50 people at an event on July 8. I inquired about catering I was put in contact with the owner Ishmael. I was really eager to give them my business. Ishmael texted me once I responded, but then there was no communication after. I attempted to reach him two more times stating my needs for my event the amount of people I needed to feed and what I was looking to do. There was no response saying that they were available that they could accommodate my order. I was literally ghosted. Now, as a business owner who values customer service for my own patrons, I am always eager to support other Long Beach businesses, but I also expect a certain level of professionalism. If Ishmael was not able to accommodate my needs for my event, that would’ve been fine I would’ve just liked to have been communicated with but to not get any type of response Or follow up phone call or any thing was disheartening considering that I’ve come into that restaurant numerous times to support and eat the food. I just felt like my business wasn’t valued. Maybe they felt 50 people wasn’t enough for a catering job. I don’t know but a simple phone call or conversation would’ve been greatly appreciated. And don’t get me wrong you guys have great food, but I’m very big on customer service because I hold myself to that standard when dealing with my own customers and clientele and I would never leave a customer on Read or just completely ignore their phone call or text. Life happens so I don’t know the circumstances. Obviously, I pivoted and went with another catering company, and I do big events for my business about every three months. I would’ve liked to have done business with you but moving forward, I will have apprehensions obviously based on this experience. Communication is paramount and that’s all I asked for. Maybe take this as a learning experience to have more support when it comes to the catering aspects of your business. Respectfully, I fellow Long Beach business owner.

This is exceptionally delicious food! From traditional Mexican to Tex Mex favorites, your palate will explode from the intensely fresh, spicy flavors. The salsa was loaded with citrus notes along with fresh Serrano Chile heat. And the prices made it all feel like you found a secret spot that you hope more people hear about!
