I love this place. It’s gem–a bit ragged on decor, but homey and comforting because of it. food is delicious and carefully made and presented. Refried beans are top notch. The staff and owner are polite and genuine. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the consistent quality of food and experience. The booths are comfortable. My favorite Mexican place in San Jose

Excellent salsas and meats! The salsa verde has great onion-tomatillo flavor while the salsa roja has a little kick. Both are delicious in their own ways. My boyfriend loved the chile verde and my pastor was delicious. You can get your meat in a burrito for your plate, but I don’t recommend it since the burrito doesn’t have much inside.

3 stars for very Nice customer service. Ok quesadilla plate… so much cheese in what seemed to be a homemade tortilla. The Taco salad was ok but would have been better with beans in it. For almost 16 bucks,
it should have had beans in it! Chile Verde for almost $19 was overpriced and the meat did not taste good at all. It was big chucks of meat that tasted “gamey”. Got a different plate of what should have been a chicken enchilada but it tasted more like chicken and mole. All together the 3 of us felt it was a little overpriced for $60+ dollars and no refund for the bad chile verde. Got a lesser priced plate in return.
The refried beans were yum. The rice on our plates was mushy and overcooked. We did not eat too much of it. This restaurant was rated like a 4+ star on yelp and google… it was our first time and we didn’t feel that rating …wanted to give only 2 stars for the food (sadly the pictures look better than the food actually was)…but like I said, the cashier man and the young lady at the bar gave nice service to us.
