I took my 11-year-old son into San Francisco for a father son weekend! I can’t tell you how great my experience was at this phenomenal hotel. The service level was five star, location was five star. Write out the front door you have Mastros steakhouse, Union Square, all the best shopping and eateries.
The private sauna was really a ton of fun with the shower built-in! This might be the Hotel’s best kept secret. Found the concierge downstairs and book in advance.
The handwritten note from the owner of the hotel and general manager, Jack… I’ll let you guess his last name; Was really the icing on the cake… By the way, the views were incredible also!

Spent a couple days in the city to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and we had a great time. The hotel was perfectly located to uber to the destinations we were planning to see. Although our rooms at first were not the rooms we had purchased for, Robert, who was working the front desk, was super helpful and understanding of our preferences. He was patient and went above and beyond to offer help and complimentary wine. The only thing that our group had a slight critique about was the A/C inside the rooms. Great maintenance staff and daily cleaning was done every time we left. We would book again here and big thanks to Robert!

We really enjoyed our stay at Handlery Union Square Hotel! The location was super convenient, and the staff were all so nice and welcoming. Sheily, Joyce, and Robert were very helpful and made our stay even better.
Special thanks to Sheily for really taking care of us and making sure we were comfortable the whole time. She was so kind, accommodating, and easy to talk to. We really appreciated the great service and hospitality. We’d definitely stay here again when we’re back in San Francisco!

I was going to leave this place a 4 star review because for the price it really was somewhere you couldnt argue with. We paid £160 a night which compared to our trip is still expensive – but san francisco is the same as LA, over priced crack houses. In both cities your paying hundreds a night for garbage. So relatively speaking £160 a night here for what you get is a bargain.
All seemed well. Great sized rooms etc. Adjacent to the pool on level 2…but then at 7:30 in the morning the staff ruined it. The noise they made was ridiculous. I appreciate they have a job to do but im not having the shouting and banging. Absolutely zero awareness of their actions
If youre staying here make sure you ask for a higher room.
Location is great. We found a car park on the next block for $30 for 24 hours. Caught the tram up to fisherman’s wharf – which by the way if youre reading this and cant decide between the two…fisherman’s wharf looks like where all the homeless stay and its just really tacky and run down. All the hotels we seen along the streets looked absolutely dreadful, the zephyr etc – so my advice would be stay around union square and travel to and from the piers.
