I usually stick to local taco trucks, but I wanted to support a local business so I decided to give this place a try.

Let’s start positive- the customer service was good.

I ordered a carne asada taco, a Baja fish taco, and rice and beans. Unfortunately, everything was disappointing. The carne asada taco was tiny, with a tiny sprinkles of meat, and definitely not worth $6.50. The Baja taco looked bigger than it was because it was mostly piled high with coleslaw. The rice and beans were barely warm and lacked flavor.

I paid over $20 for two tacos and rice and beans, and it definitely wasn’t worth the price.
The food seemed like it was toned down for a broader audience, so if you’re looking for bold, authentic Mexican flavors, this may not be the place for you.
Next time, I’ll be sticking with the local taco trucks.

I was craving Authentic Mexican food after having a conversation with my Mexican patient suggesting the Bay Area fell short as compared to Los Angeles with Authentic Mexican food places. I searched on google and I was looking for a place that was casual yet authentic. I passed up many restaurants to make the sharp right turn in to Golondrina’s tiny parking lot. I could tell it was going to be good because it was a little busy before 5 pm on a Thursday. The server was very warm and sweet. I ordered the mole chicken enchiladas and decided to eat it in my car. Let’s just say, I almost bit my fingers off trying to eat the last bite. Someone’s grandma is cooking in that kitchen and they are blessed enough to be able to eat this level of quality all the time ! The food is fresh, outstanding quality. The flavors are true and mesmerizing. Maybe the best Mexican food I’ve had – ever (yes. better than San Diego, LA, NYC). I can’t wait to try the other options on the menu. I may go back for breakfast!
