We ate here both nights while staying at the Village Inn because it was very convenient. The food was good, and the service was great. We had the smash burger and fish and chips both nights because they were so good that we wanted to eat them again. We also shared a salad and buff wings. They have great soft-serve ice cream—I got a bowl for $5. It was a perfect way to finish the day after a long hike and a nice meal. I took off a star for the food because the portions were miss. The first night, my fish and chips came with only about 7–8 fries, but the second night, the plate was full.
Fun place near the entrance of Lassan. It has pretty basic bar food and sandwiches with neat outdoor seating. Note, there really isn’t any indoor seating and it is right next to an RV park so you’ll want to be ok with no indoor options and lots of noise and loud groups—a fun rather than peaceful setting.
I stopped at Frank’s a couple of times while visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park. Prices are where I would expect them for a remote bar and restaurant. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. The food itself is a hit or miss. The double cheeseburger was juicy and flavorful, I’d recommend it. I also had the Tri Tip sandwich, which I don’t recommend. It looks the Tri Tip was cooked on a skillet and not a flame. It was shaved and tasted a little dry. The fries were seasoned pretty heavily, but otherwise crunchy and hot. Lastly I have the cool down salad, with feta, arugula, diced tomatoes, and orange balsamic. On its own I don’t think it’s worth the price. If you really want a salad, add protein. I think it’s like few bucks for chicken.
First of all I don’t know who Frank is but he’s cheap. My quarter pounder was flatter than a pancake. And no I did not order the smash burger. Second I ordered grilled onions to add to my burger and they gave me about 4 little grilled rings which cost me an extra dollar and hardly got any fries. Third my friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich that was supposed to come with diced chicken, sun dried tomatoes, pepperoncini, artichoke hearts, and arugula. All she got was diced chicken with mayo and sun dried tomatoes in an old hot dog bun and there was hardly any meat. Frank didn’t want to comp the band any beers but offered soda. His staff was very friendly and offered to make me a new burger but that it would take a while and I was so hungry and tired I just wanted to get out of there. Overall I do not recommend this place unless you want a beer or glass of wine. 100% stay away from the food. You’ll leave hungry.
Great place for a delicious meal just south of Lassen. Stopped here for dinner, got the double with bacon, patty melt, tots, and fries. Everything was very good, but the fries were a little underdone, that would be our only critique.
Service was friendly, the order came out quickly, and it was very nice outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend if in the area.
