Problems from the moment we stepped in the door! No one came to seat us in the empty restaurant. Rude staff with nasty attitudes. They cant tell the difference between reposado and Blanco. Tried to serve us what we didnt order and when we questioned it we were argued that it was what we asked for when it was in fact not. Someone came over and told us they didnt have what we ordered and show us what we got instead. That wasn’t the problem, it was the girl who argued that we didnt know what we were talking about smh (Her attitude was actually very disgusting). We paid for our chips and salsa and left. Didnt even touch the alcohol. They never brought us the check when we asked. When got up to leave after waiting for some time we had to flag someone down to pay $6. Walked right down the block and spent hundreds of dollars with a nice BLACK knowledgeable bartender. We actually felt very discriminated against and didnt feel very welcome but we were still very polite until we left.
Food was great! I loved the chicken nachos and pastor taco. The holiday drinks were cute and delicious. I heard there was a nightclub downstairs but never made it. I’ll check it out next time.
First time coming here. The music was playing and the vibe was there. The hostess was a bit rude, our waitress took a long time to take our order and one plate came out right away, the nachos took a bit longer. The drinks were good though. The quesabirria tacos were really good. The flavor was there. The nachos were also really good even if it was extra crispy.
The food was delicious, and our waiter was great. I also really like the vibe/art and bar seating arrangement. Unfortunately there are a couple things I really disliked..
1.) The sewer smell was pretty strong. I’m not sure if that’s a permanent thing or not, but it was unpleasant.
2.) They nickel and dime you on everything. Chips and salsa was around $10, and they even charge to bring you more chips. Also, on their meals, the price you see is not the price you pay. You also have to read further in the menu description and add $ for whatever meat your ordering.. even on items that would literally never be ordered without meat – see my photo below of El Patron Tacos where the meat was $5 extra…
So to be completely fair, this may be more of a dinner/night spot, and we were here for lunch. I’ll try it again sometime at night to see if the night atmosphere makes up for the shortcomings.
