To say the least I felt at home. The server Kiedis, a respectful hard working young man helped me and my group settle down at a table perfect for us. This was already a comfort then when the food came and to say the least I was back at home with my Grandmother making her home made tacos. Dos Coyotes Mexican grill made me surrounded by good people in a good place with great food. This place is awesome and Kiedis keep doing you man! I will def be coming back.

I had the pleasure of eating here with my friends for a delightful meal. The service was fantastic and was greeted and taken care of quickly by Kiedis. The Border Burrito was exceptional and very flavorful and the chips were a nice touch. I will definitely come back and hope to see Kiedis again.

Take out order for 7adults and 2 children. Got 2 salads, 3 orders of nachos and 10 fish tacos (5 orders). Great birthday lunch, leftovers for a late dinner for 3. Dos Coyotes food is always best eaten there but makes fun take-out when we have guests.

Ordered a steak fajita salad and a shrimp fajita salad with “extra steak” and “extra fajita veggies”.
There wasn’t much steak in the fajita to begin with and it was mostly lettuce and beans and for the “extra fajita veggies” they just threw half raw whole red onions in our salads (ordered takeout) and other barely grilled vegetables. Didn’t look like they really tried to grill anything it wasn’t even busy.

I want to emphasize that the two star rating is not for the quality of food, but for the ‘service’. I’m writing this review to let people know NOT TO ASSUME THAT THE SALSA BAR IS FREE.
I’ve eaten at Dos in North Davis more times than I can count but today I went to their South Davis location after a long sauna session next door. I hesitated even going in because I didn’t want a full meal, but the thought of their green salsa with chips sounded good.
I purchased an 8oz of guacamole for $10, just so I would have the bag of chips that it comes with and access to the salsa bar. From there, things went precipitously downhilll. As I was standing at the salsa counter, scooping salsa for my chips, the cashier walked over and told me that I would have to pay for the salsa I had just put into my brown bag with the chips. Keep in mind, there is one other person besides me in the restaurant at this time. I was a taken aback because 1) he acted like I was stealing 2) there’s no signage or policy anywhere stating a cap on free salsa 3) Considering that I had already purchased a guacamole and chips just for the salsa, and a big bag of chips was the ONLY thing I had, of course I was going to get more salsa than normal.
I thought it was interesting that there wasn’t any ‘oh I’m sorry there’s a limit, and you will have to put a few back’, or ‘I’m letting you know for next time’, or even ‘you’ll need to pay for the additional salsas (beyond the free ones)’. Nope, just immediately enforcement of a rule that wasn’t written anywhere, and acting like I had the audacity to try to walk out the door with something that for all intents and purposes, most people, including myself had assumed was free.
It was so off putting that I gave him he whole bag back including the guac and said “you can keep it”. My friend, who was with me at the time, and also wanted just chips and salsa, ended up purchasing an entree because the cashier said something similar to her. I have no idea if this is limited to the South Davis location, but I would ask that if Dos is going to enforce policies like this that they a) at least post some signage or have it well labeled on their menu, like how buffets do with leaving food on the plate b) educate their cashiers and servers on how to explain and enforce it in a fair and friendlier way instead of shaming people.
Maybe this is just a sign of the times, ever eroding value for greater costs, but I was disappointed and not sure if I will ever want to eat at the South Davis location.
