Took my mom out to a Make-Up Mothers Day in Plymouth visiting the new Casino. Afterwards I wanted to take her to a nice spot for dinner. Mexican food is usually our go to choice. Colin De Oro did no disappoint at all!!!!! The atmosphere walking in was very quaint and nice. Our host caught our attention right away and welcomed us in. We had a table in no time at all along with warm chips a very delicious Salsa that I definitely took a to-go cup of!!!!!! The food came out surprisingly quick but even if we had waited it was definitely worth it!!!! I had the Fajitas with Chicken and Steak the meat was tender and delicious along with everything else!!!! We had a glorious meal that evening up untill closing. We were the last to leave and our waitress did not rush us one bit. She even took our picture outside!!!! It was a very AMAZING experience and we can’t wait to go back!!!!
On a trip to a nearby winery party, we knew they didn’t serve food so we grabbed 2 burritos. Both yummy: carnitas and chile verde pork. I wish the pork was cooked off more for slightly less fat, but still good. $16 each for the burritos is a little high for me, but they were generous. They came with beans, rice, and chips and salsa. Inside is a local bar also, seems everyone knows each other. Great service staff–super friendly and fast.
On my first trip to Amador City and Plymouth, just randomly stopped at Colina De Oro and became a pleasant experience. Food was great, I ordered Chicken Enchilada, tasted like authentic Mexican cuisine. Great environment and friendly staff hosted me with smile and positive attitude. Highly recommended.
Servers were friendly and seated us quickly and given chips that seemed old and the salsa tasted like the tomatoes were canned. The place looks dingy and run down. There were lots of happy people at the bar. Food lacked flavor and was not as expected based on menu descriptions. I ordered the fajita taco meal. I expected freshly grilled onions and peppers. The photo is what I got. Not sure how the peppers got to be so small and stringy? Maybe from a can too? Had to salt it heavily to taste anything. Next time we will find something else.
With limited options, it was recommended that we give this place a try. The guacamole and salsa were both excellent! The entrees were also very good and filling. We didn’t try any alcoholic beverages as we had just gone wine tasting. They would have gotten five stars from us but one of our servers was not wearing a mask. During the pandemic, this was a negative. We kept ours on when not eating or drinking due to the number of folks here who were mask less.
