We visited the north park location Wednesday evening and had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and personable. He made an effort to acknowledge our young son who even mentioned that the waiter was so nice. The drinks were refreshing, tasty and beautifully presented. The food was the best mexican food we have had in a while in San Diego. Presentation was colorful, fresh and appetizing and the salsa was perfect with lots of chips included. We really appreciated the kids menu and vegan options and will definitely be going back soon.

First time at Cocina de Barrio, we went for a Monday happy hour, close to last call so the restaurant wasn’t busy. Service is always the first impression for me and all the staff was kind and professional without being too overzealous. We were cared for without having conversations interrupted. Elizabeth was our server as well as Daniel the manager. Both great, no notes. The drinks and food were delicious and as I type I’m thinking about their lamb memelita, almost salivating. I enjoy Oaxacan style Mexican food, it’s different from more “traditional”or “better known” styles of Mexican food so keep that in mind if it’s new to you however they have fish tacos that a pretty standard for anywhere else. Overall the food is delicious and fresh, drinks were tasty and not watered-down and service was 10/10.

I’vecome here 3 times this week!! I work down the street and me and my coworkers love to come for the happy hour drinks and food Mon-Fri 3-5pm. Super amazing food, great service and drinks and delicious! I recommend this super highly. Their brunch menu is also incredible! Food portions are big! I’ve tried all their Margarita flavors as well as their Birria tacos, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, Salsa Verde chilaquiles and Chipotle chilaquiles. I love this place so much!

Service was great, friendly yet efficient. Food was all very flavorful and portions were big.
The pancakes themselves were light and fluffy, with little crispy bits at the ends, perfection!!
The mole on the Enmoladas had just the right level of heat for me. They give the table an great salsa macha, if you want to spice it up. All in all would order everything all over again!! Coffee was flavorful and very hot!

We ate here twice during our trip to San Diego and the food and service were amazing both times! Their dishes are beautiful and so yummy. The portions are also a good size and my fiance and I shared two dishes each time. Will definitely be coming back when we visit again!
