With the claim to be on Michelin Guide, we wondered if it will justify the premium that privilege carries.
TL;DR: we enjoyed the experience as well as food.

Servers are great. Small things like placing and picking up dishes with care, friendly banter but not over bearing made the experience enjoyable. Every dish was set up beautifully. Taste was really good. If we have to find a fault – chicken could have used a tad bit less salt. But it was fine with Naan.

Appetizer was unique. Presentation was something I had not seen before. Was large enough that 4 people could have it.

Bhindi do pyaza was excellent. You know how the not so fresh bhindi that is not cooked leaves a bad feeling in mouth – none of that. That is the litmus test for me. And it passed with flying color.

Mixed veg was also nice. Enjoyed it.

Goat biryani was fragrant and portion size was decent enough to carry some home afterwards. The raita served alongside was really really good.

Chicken curry was yummy too.

Overall the luncheon experience was great. Definitely worth checking out for special occasions.

Aurum was such a pleasant surprise! We’ve eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants around the Bay Area, and this one genuinely stood out.

I especially loved the attention to detail in the food — the dishes had layers of flavor rather than simply being heavy or overly spicy. The small plates were particularly fun because we could try several different things, and the presentation was beautiful without feeling overly fussy. Even familiar Indian flavors were combined and presented in ways that made them feel completely new.

Another big plus for us was the vegetarian selection. It didn’t feel like the vegetarian dishes were an afterthought — there were plenty of interesting options, and they were every bit as creative as the rest of the menu.

The atmosphere also deserves a mention. It has a polished, upscale feel while still being comfortable enough for a relaxed dinner. And the service was fantastic. Our server was attentive, happy to explain the dishes and offer recommendations, and made us feel very well taken care of throughout the evening.

A really memorable meal and easily one of the more distinctive Indian restaurants we’ve tried in the South Bay. We’ll absolutely be returning!

We especially liked the butter chicken with baked crust, the not-pasta lasagna, mixed veggies, and paratha.

On another visit we had butter chicken, pot pie, salmon, cauliflower, vada pav. We were impressed again!

The owner said they make creative dishes that are not on the menus of other Indian restaurants. They can also make traditional dishes not on the menu.

This is the only Indian restaurant that my foodie wife is happy with so far.
