The sol restaurants are my favorite upscale Mexican restaurants in the bay area. This is probably the best one. I’ve never had a bad meal or margarita here.

Our Palo Alto friends’ introduced us to lively Vive Sol restaurant! Loved the vibe and ethnic decor. We enjoyed the dinner of pork burritos, pork mole, chips & salsa, wine & margaritas!
Good portions, fair pricing and very flavorful.
As we couldn’t decide, luckily we had a patient & very nice male server, sorry I didn’t remember his name. Explained and gave good recommendations.
Outdoor dining at entrance and the larger patio on the rear side of the restaurant, great for group events.
Love to dine here again on our next visit to the Palo Alto area.

I had camarones a Cilantro. The food was good, not extraordinary given the price. The nachos we had as starters were good and the mezcal cocktail they have was delicious.
The staff is super friendly and helpful when you want something custom.

We have come over the years since Sol opened. Our recent visit reminded us how unique these restaurants are. The bar drinks are pricey, but excellently crafted. The Guacamole is served promptly and pairs well with the three salsas. The Guajillo (Enjococado) has a stonger flavor than most restaurants, yet has a richer texture. We forgot how unique the Lomo de Puerco is; so indescribable but delicious. Even the beans and rice are top notch. Points off for inconsistent plating temperature and dining room noise. Recent improvements for accessibility are appreciated.
