Here is a very nice Senior Center and Thrift store. When it comes to high-end care for seniors in Mendocino County this is the place to be. The location here is very easy to access and to find parking. I was amazed how the people of Ukiah and the politicians take care of the seniors, there are days when they take their members on a day trip and then there are days they host games and movies. One thing we lack here in this County is respect for our seniors, they have all lived life and paid their dues, so it is nice to come across a place like this. The Thrift store at this location is one of the better ones I have found in the area. I enjoy going to the center with my senior friends and eating lunch here. I wad amazed at the quality of food and care they showed us and the rest of the seniors there that day. I love how the workers always showed respect to the elders and made sure to trest them like they were and are first class. The senior cent has buses and rides from all different agencies giving rides all day long to and from this location. Nice to see tax payer dollars going to work. Thank you Ukiah senior center for all you do for our elder population in Ukiah and Mendocino County. Seemed good at first but once I went to pay, they claimed they were running my card in a different building, the lady came back saying my card was reported lost/stolen so they denied service to me and wouldn’t allow me to pay with a different form of payment. My card has my full legal name on it which proves that I did not steal it. I used the card at a different store right before coming there so I know it wasn’t reported lost/stolen. When I went to the bank to see what was going on, they told me the senior center never ran my card to begin with.

After living in rural Mendocino Co 20+ years, it was time to retire.
Looked at the senior housing, health care, & this senior center.
Total disappointment on all, including the senior support networks that were unresponsive.
Lucky for me, I have piles of cash & went to Sonoma Co where there are actual senior services.
Geezer sunset years should be filled with comfort & joy.
Sadly, Ukiah’s senior scene is a depressing “Dead End” & I got the hell out.

I think it’s awesome that we have a place like the senior center to go to for food, fun, and thrift shopping. The meals are affordable and balanced, and if you become a member, there are other benefits as well. If you are interested, try bunko or even bingo.

This place is amazing. They have good lunches and lots of free goodies. The people who volunteer there are all very friendly and make you feel at home. They have all kinds of activities going on and you can pick up a menu and activity calendar for the month. If you are lonely and enjoy meeting new people or if you are shy and have a hard time interacting with new people this is the place for you. So get up and start interacting with new people and you might find yourself having a good time.
