This is a fun place owned by a delightful 96 year old man. My girls found a couple of things to buy..The real treasure was visiting with Byurn the owner..great stories of his adventures. We come to Fort Bragg every Easter and we will visit “The African Guy” again! Yes the place smells of weed because he partakes. We don’t ..but I find it interesting that he is 96 and smokes and is so fascinating. Shame to all the haters who didn’t have anything nice to say in their pitiful reviews..Hopefully you will get a life and smell the roses along the way..Hopefully you won’t get black mirrored. Keep on keeping on Mr. Byurn. Love and Light. ❤️
This is truly a one of a kind location. It’s not for everyone, but we enjoyed walking around! The owner introduced himself, he’s an older gentleman who worked on a film in africa. Clearly what he experienced there changed his life. Some of the photos in the museum are photos he took while he was there!
It’s wonderful that proceeds go to wildlife preservation.
The owner is amazing! This store is amazing! Don’t listen to the negative reviews. The owner is almost 96 years old and a bit deaf and not as mobile as he once was, with only so much help. He runs the store alone and all of his items tell a deep story to who he is and the journeys he has come to. Give the guy a break. Who cares if it smells like a little bit of this and that… maybe the store isn’t for you?… Go somewhere else. I personally love the most how much care he put into the placement of each item shelved. He cares a lot. Again this is not just a thrift store, its a museam, and a museam of his journey on this planet. One of the BEST gems in Fort Bragg California. ( BTW he likes to sing his thoughts).
This place is interesting. I love walking into a place with Steely Dan playing looking at quirky items. Yes it’s smells like weed, but that’s the allure.
Very unique experience going to this fun wild animal themed thrift shop! Found some cool inexpensive jewelry and enjoyed every moment of our visit! We even got to see the outdoor backyard bird feeder full of birds (complete with a very optimistic neighborhood cat watching the birds). Will definitely go again and will send our out-of-town guests too.
