Trillium Café was excellent in every way. We were seated in the beautiful heated garden area with a lovely view of the ocean, which made for a truly special dining experience.

Our waitress was knowledgeable and very helpful in guiding us through both the menu and the wine pairings. For appetizers, we chose the goat cheese croquettes and the cream of cauliflower soup. Both dishes were outstanding—perfectly seasoned and beautifully prepared. The croquettes were crispy on the outside and wonderfully creamy on the inside.

For our entrée, we enjoyed the sablefish served over polenta with asparagus and green beans. It tasted heavenly. The buttery fish simply melted in our mouths, and every element of the dish was perfectly balanced. It was paired with a beautiful Gewürztraminer from Navarro Winery, which complemented the meal perfectly.

To finish the evening, we ordered the affogato with ginger ice cream. Needless to say, it was the perfect ending to an exceptional meal.

From the atmosphere and service to the outstanding food and wine, Trillium Café delivered a memorable dining experience that we will be talking about for a long time.

Had a delicious dinner with fresh seafood. Excellent chef and loved being served by chefs son Andreas. Our waitress was very good, don’t miss desert. We sat outside in May and it was lovely. They even had blankets for when the sun went down. Beautiful old house and garden was so pretty. Close to the ocean right downtown in Mendocino.
