There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in this area, but IMHO, this place is the best! Every time you go, there’s a line, and you’ll see plenty of Mexican customers waiting too, which is always a good sign that the food is as authentic and delicious as it should be.

Highly recommended for both takeout and dining in. Their guacamole is fantastic, and they also sell freshly prepared, ready-to-eat meats like steak and chicken, which are great if you’re looking for a quick and tasty meal at home.

Definitely one of our favorite spots!

I hadn’t been to Tortilleria El Molino in over 20 YEARS !! I’m so glad to see they’re still around. We live North of Sacramento & had to go to Walnut Creek. YAY – Tortilleria El Molino!! They have great food (esp al pastor); cheap prices; and a friendly, efficient staff. The even make pozole & menudo. I ordered my burrito w/o salsa (I can’t eat tomatoes) & it wasn’t spicy… and it was soooo good! They even add fresh corn in the filling!

Their tortillas are outstanding! I peeled back one layer of mine & the 2nd layer was enough to still hold my burrito together! Apparently, most customers buy a package of their tortillas with their order, for use at home. If I didn’t already have a bunch of crappy storebought ones at home, I would’ve bought some too.

El Molino is a quick serve kind of place. Not fancy but clean & well maintained. Yes, there’s tables & counter seating, plus a couple tables outside.

My husband ordered the fried pork, not knowing that hard fried pork skins & regular fried pork were in it. OOPS !! The fried pork skins are super hard to chew. We both should’ve had the al pastor.

AND… the service is FAST !! They also have fruit smoothie/drinks too. Plus the Mexican coke.

The burritos are absolutely amazing here. Super fast but friendly service. I always make sure to stop when I’m visiting before going home because their asada burrito is top notch. Can’t wait to visit again and will be sure to stop here again!

Great authentic spot! The Taco Salad is a must-try and was my personal favorite. The Tacos are kid-approved and very tasty. If you’re adventurous, try the Menudo—it’s quite pungent and traditional. Also, don’t miss their Fresh Orange Juice; it’s high quality and made from real fruit. The whole shop has a great, local atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.

This place is a god-send in an age of 18% minimum tip and $14 cocktails. You can eat well here for under $15, which is so rare in the Bay these days.

Best thing to get is the taco salad. The shell is fried to order. Lettuce is crisp: rice and beans help fill you up. It’ll actually cost you more to buy all of the ingredients to make this than to buy takeout here.

There aren’t a lot of seats inside, and the vibe is very eat and go. But it’s worth it to eat the taco salad when it’s fresh.

Lately they haven’t been very generous with the salsas. So don’t be shy, check your bag, and ask for more. Service is fine to good, depending on the employee. They serve the local working-class Mexican community here.
