We recently stayed at Weller House Inn to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, and it was such a memorable experience. The stay felt wonderfully authentic to the historic time period of the home while still being comfortable and welcoming. Each room had its own fun personality and theme, which made the experience even more special.
Everything was very clean, the service was warm and attentive, and you could truly feel the care and passion that has gone into preserving this beautiful historic property. We loved the charm, character, and unique atmosphere. It made our Fort Bragg trip feel magical and meaningful. We would absolutely stay again!
Great cookies and coffee!
Neat place to stay in Fort Bragg. My wife and I enjoyed our stay in the Abolone room 5/23. The bed was very comfortable and the view was awsome. The owners were very welcoming and glad to have us a guests. We had the pleasure of speaking with Jeff at length Sunday morning, we enjoyed hearing their story and their passion for running the hotel. Thank you.
Tucked away with a quiet charm that feels increasingly rare, The Weller House delivers an experience that is less about lodging and more about atmosphere. From the moment I arrived for a friend’s wedding, it was clear this wasn’t a typical hotel stay, it was a step back into a more deliberate, unhurried era.
What stood out most were the simple, sensory details: settling into the living room with a good book, the comforting aroma of freshly baked cookies drifting through the air, and the soft backdrop of light jazz playing somewhere in the distance. It created a rhythm that encouraged you to slow down and actually enjoy where you were.
The Weller House leans fully into its identity as a nostalgic retreat, and it executes on that promise exceptionally well. If you’re looking for modern flash, this isn’t it, but if you value warmth, character, and a sense of timelessness, it’s hard to recommend it highly enough.
We stayed at historic The Weller House for 1-night last May 10th 2026. We booked the Abalone Room, the 3rd floor in the Water Tower. We enjoyed our stay. Our lovely room was comfortable and clean. Great water pressure, hot showers. There were an electric kettle, microwave, refrigerator, tea and coffee bags in our room. Our room had nice views. If you go to the very top of the Water Tower, the views were even better! The owners of The Weller House were very nice and helpful. There were hot, strong coffee and delicious, warm cookies in the reception area. LOCATION was great – walking distance to Glass Beach, North Coast Brewing Company, Skunk Train, etc.
We stayed at The Weller House for 3 nights in early March. The location is great if you want to check out Glass Beach, an easy 10 min walk or a very quick drive. It’s also close to shopping, restaurants, and the Skunk Train.
We really enjoyed our stay. The grounds are lovely, though since we were a bit early in the season, they were doing some clean up and such. We booked the Sea Glass room, the top room of the attached tower (no elevator so be prepared for stairs). Although it isn’t a large room, it had everything we needed. A king size bed (very comfy!), a large shower and tub (which is in the main room and faces the bed), a separate small bathroom, a fold-out table with little stools, space heaters, a fan, silverware, a microwave and fridge, a flashlight and lantern (for nighttime beach outings, I assume), and even a first aid kit.
The room itself was light and bright, while feeling cozy, with windows all around. Great views facing the ocean, we saw a couple of lovely sunsets outside the window. The very top of the tower has a viewing platform to see a 360 view of the water and the town.
Every interaction we had with the management folks was lovely and helpful. Check in and out were easy. We’re pretty low-maintenance travelers so we didn’t need any extra towels or room cleaning while we were there, but I can’t imagine there would be any issue if you needed something.
My one issue was that the front walk was not very well-lit and, since we arrived after dark, there was some confusion on where to go to get into our room. There wasn’t a street light for that section of the block, so I’m not sure if this is a town issue and a light just needed to be changed or if there’s just not a light at all. In any case, it wasn’t a big enough issue to affect our trip, and I wouldn’t rate anything down because of it.
