This place has been here for years my mom had dinner here before I was born then she took me here for my 10th and 17th birthdays now I’m coming here to celebrate her’s even though she’s not around anymore. They have the best staff and food I have had and driving up you can smell the food I’m so happy it survived covid.

Incredibly chaotic and disappointing experience. There was no greeting or structure at the door; I had to ask how to check in and was told to write my name on a list. I watched several tables clear out and sit empty while I waited for over an hour, eventually having to remind them I was still there just to get seated. Meanwhile, guests arriving after me were greeted much more warmly and seated promptly.
Once seated, I was immediately rushed to order. The lack of hospitality was jarring, and not once was an apology offered for the hour-long wait or the confusion at the door.
The food didn’t make up for it, either. My steak was requested medium-rare but arrived completely overcooked/well-done, and the French toast had no seasoning—it just tasted like bread dipped in plain egg. I didn’t even bother sending the food back at that point. The staff tried to over-compensate later by hovering and repeatedly asking if “everything was okay,” but it felt hollow without a single apology for the initial neglect. I won’t be returning.

Good food, fast service, server was pleasant. Safe area, lots of parking. No complaints here.

Genuinely really disappointed in the decline of service. I used to love this place but just now my dad and I tried to dine in and the staff paid absolutely no attention to us. The guy who let us in looked upset that we were even there, yet a woman came in after us and they attended her faster than us. Mind you I even went to the bathroom and when I came back they still hadn’t given us menus even though the waitress had passed us a few times and wouldn’t even look at us. It’s unfortunate because I was really looking forward to brunch here with my dad but he also felt uncomfortable so we left instead of waiting God knows how much longer for someone to even acknowledge we were there.

I stopped by Embers on 600 San Pablo for breakfast and tried their veggie omelet. The portion was generous, and the vegetables tasted fresh and well-cooked, not soggy like in some other places. The omelet was fluffy and had a nice balance of flavors — nothing overpowering, just a good classic veggie mix. It came with toast and hash browns, which were both crispy and satisfying. The service was friendly and fast, and the cozy diner vibe made the meal even more enjoyable. Definitely a solid spot for a hearty breakfast!
