Came here for lunch by myself on a Sunday. Although the restaurant was busy, the staff was able to sit me down at the community table without much waiting at all. Festive atmosphere. I had a cup of cappuccino with almond milk, which was good. I ordered the Chicken and Waffle – the fried chicken was well seasoned, which was really good with the gravy. It’s also available Korean style if you are into sweet and spicy. Since the restaurant was busy, service wasn’t fast, but was reasonable. I chatted with some good people after eating our meals at the community table. The parking lot in the plaza was full, so be patient when looking for parking.

I love this place. I have been here for brunch and lunch and the food has not disappointed yet! Great options and big portions. Alcohol drinks are tasty as well as simple orange juice tea or soda. You can go with a group, couple, by yourself doesn’t matter. Its a good vibe. Also a small outside area to sit.

First let me say, that I have been to the breakfast club including this one that is in Castro Valley a few times. Castro Valley was my first experience and it wasn’t very good. I went there a second time with my Bestie and it wasn’t very good I was going to give up completely on the breakfast club, but I discovered that there are other others one in Walnut Creek one in San Jose, and both of them were very good. My experience with the breakfast club in Castro Valley is not the same. I went there a third time almost a week ago. My friend ordered the California Benedict and I ordered the egg and potato selection with a side of bacon. We both decided instead of the option of toast we would get the crumb cake? I don’t know what it is but it’s delicious. It’s always fresh and hot even at this one. Here’s the issue I asked for the X to be fried and they came back perfect I asked for the bacon to be cooked until it was absolutely crisp from one end to the other, I explained to them that I don’t like chewy bacon and the waiter said OK he would make sure. I got the country style potatoes and that was the biggest disappointment because it looks like they boil the potatoes, then they put them on the grill and crisp them on each side and the inside taste like boiled potato. It has no taste at all. There are no vegetables which come in cut potatoes like onion and bell pepper. There were two very small pieces of bell pepper on that plate. I asked the waiter when he was finally able to get back to us and no bad because it was busy in there. I got that, but when I told him about the potatoes and the quality of them and how they taste it and also let him know that the other places their potatoes are not like this and he told me that their potatoes were standard like all the rest of this restaurants. So who’s gonna argue with that? I certainly wasn’t going to and so I gave him back the bacon. I told him I only ate the egg. I didn’t eat the potatoes or the bacon. I did not say anything to him about my friends plate, but I will share that with you. She ate the eggs and she ate part of everything else except for her potatoes that were soaking and whatever that topping is, they put the onion and bell peppers, and all that it was sitting on top of the potatoes and they were soggy so she didn’t eat any of that and it was so much of it it was just too much to deal with so she just basically just ate the eggs and the I think it had ham on it and something else she just left the potatoes and all the vegetables there. When we got the check, he only charged me for the coffee cake and the two eggs he was really annoyed with me for saying anything at all, but that’s gonna have to be his issue and he’s not gonna have to worry about it because I will go to Walnut Creek next time. It’s a father from my home but that’s OK. I won’t be returning to Walnut Creek. I almost forgot. The center tables that they have down the middle of the restaurant are too small. The tables are too small. He literally knocked her coffee into her purse that was on the floor, there’s nowhere to sit your purse and it’s not really room for food.

We have been twice fist just my husband and I. The next day there was 6 of us. Food is good does lack a little flavor. When it says with sour cream it is less then a tsp. Constantly having to ask for coffee refills, and for breakfast I feel quick refills are a must. Food did come out really quick and hot, despite how busy it was. Patio seating was more like musical chairs as everyone kept moving tables due to the sun being in your face and umbrella coverage not great. Overall I would recommend this place, but they definitely have room for improvement. None of the staff looked happy or smiled. I didn’t drink but the cocktails were nice looking and they did enjoy them.

Me and my friend were quite surprised to see that they had opened a new Breakfast at Midtown — because to be honest, we had only knew of the one near Downtown San Jose. The logo looked legit, so we decided to give it a try.

All I will say is — despite being really spontaneous about it, I do not regret going to this new location. Not only is it closer to me in terms of distance to my house, but also, it is very close to work for me, and a prime location for me and my Castro Valley friends to meet up.

The hospitality at the Breakfast at Midtown was top-tier. I really appreciated the fact that they were able to seat us inside despite how busy they were in the morning.

We got a mimosa each, with orange juice, and Benedicts and omelettes. It was really savory, not too overly salted, and I thought that it was quite enough for both of us. The portion was so big that I had to take the rest to have for leftovers.

Will definitely be back to bring more friends to this breakfast spot — they are as equally yummy as the San Jose one, so thankfully they won’t have to make that trek down to the South Bay if we wanted a taste.
