Unique. Fun. From the goats to the hot tub in a woodsy glen to weekend campfire treats. Each cabin has a theme to fit the guests. I stayed in the spotless Writers Cabin with typewriter, note pads, pencils and books, photos and inspirational messages that would make a Fitzgerald or Hemingway smile. The managers are a joy. They love the Andiron and their guests. The location on a twisty road overlooking the Pacific is ideal for exploring one of the most beautiful places ever created by Mother Nature.
The Andiron is a wonderful reflection of the charm and beauty of Mendocino. My husband and I stayed in The Maker room, which included a mix of craft and art supplies (so fun!), a record player, and a deck overlooking the ocean. In addition to the goats and chickens, we were lucky enough to have deer visitors as well. We can’t wait to come back!
Mendocino has many lodging options, but The Andiron should be your choice if you want a bucolic setting, privacy, views, and attentive service.
On a hillside above Highway 1, a half-dozen duplex cabins provide views of the Pacific that you’ll share with the occasional family of deer crossing through the fields.
Inside your cabin, you’ll find that personal attention to detail will have been made before your arrival, with the cabin already warm and inviting.
Make sure to arrive in time for happy hour with your hosts, and say hi to the goats. Bring some groceries, because while the local dining scene is great, staying in and enjoying your cabin and the views is irresistible.
We really enjoyed celebrating our Anniversary with our pup at The Andiron! From the cute kitschy rooms with thoughtful touches and the lovely hosts to the beautiful surroundings, it was just perfect. We thought the cabins had everything you would need for a casual stay and was a wonderful, stress free place to base our outdoor explorations from. I will definitely recommend this places to friends & Family 🙂
