Tasty Kitchen is a nice little family-run Chinese restaurant in San Leandro with generous portions, reasonable prices, and a good mix of traditional home-style dishes and Sichuan flavors. The place is simple and casual, but clean and welcoming, and the service feels friendly and personal.
A few dishes really stand out. The Mapo Tofu is one of the favorites here — savory, rich, and spicy without being overwhelming. The Chongqing Spicy Chicken has a good kick and plenty of flavor, while the Cumin Beef is fragrant and nicely seasoned. If you prefer something milder, the Orange Chicken is crispy with a sweet-tangy sauce, and the House Special Chow Mein is a good choice with chicken, beef, BBQ pork, shrimp, and vegetables. The Walnut Shrimp is another popular dish, with lightly battered shrimp and a creamy sweet sauce.
Their lunch specials are a good value and come with rice, an egg roll, and salad. Portions are generous, so it is easy to leave full without spending too much. This is more of a comfortable neighborhood restaurant than a fancy dining place, but the food has a homemade feel and there are enough choices for both spicy-food fans and people who prefer classic Chinese dishes.

Over the years I had gone there without any problems. Howevr today I experienced very horrible service even though they were not busy and the restaurant o ly had 4 or 5 tavkea.
With the new owners I tried to get an uodated menu because online a lot of menus were not current or had old prices.
We were planning to order for my mom, dads 56th anniversary, or my mom’s 80th birthday celebration.
However due to their lack of help when I went there we will most likely have to look elswehere.
They said just look online and hopefully you can find a more current one somewhere.

Best Chinese food in Davis! Love their lemon chicken and teriyaki chicken. Food plates are quite big. Service is nice and friendly! Recommended

Our college friend group recently returned to Davis for a visit, and this spot is a must-visit for us Aggies! It holds a special place in our hearts, bringing back so many great memories.
Each of us ordered a dish based on our college favorites: the House Fried Rice, Hand-Shredded Chicken with Jellyfish, and Braised Tofu with Vegetables and Mushrooms. The Hand-Shredded Chicken with Jellyfish remains my all-time favorite! It’s hard to find this unique flavor anywhere else, and it tasted just as delicious as I remember from my college days. The food was tasty and nostalgic, making the experience even more special.

Food was delicious. My rating on this place is solely on the food. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite part about the food was the breading was very thin so we had nice sized portions of meat in every bite. It tasted fresh and was very nice serving sizes. My only complaints are the decor being old fashioned and lack thereof and also the staff seemly not caring about anything you have to say or your existence. Our waiter did nothing to show disrespect, but he seemed like he didn’t really care. Not that this changed my opinion because the food was so good. Thanks tasty kitchen. We will be returning.
