I’ve been a fan of this place for some time. But as tends to happen with a lot of Mexican restaurants, they grow a base then downgrade their quality. The food is good so it makes up for the service and uncomfortable establishment. But now the food is thrown together, literally. So there is no justification in continuing to eat here when there a hundreds of establishments around San Jose that appreciate their customers.

place is really good. I had a chile relleno burrito and its was delish. What probably made my visit expensive was the watermelon water and a beer to go with it but for $25 its was well worth it. My friend Pancake recommended it a while back and yes dude this is legit good.

Really good quesabirria tacos! Fresh & on point! Just super overpriced in my opinion. 1 order of the tacos came with 3 & a small bowl of consome, with 2 beers totaled $30. Not what you’re expecting when you go to a small hole in the wall spot. But nevertheless, food was still good.

Favorite local taqueria with some standard and unique items.

    Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Cost to worth it rating: 3
    Opentableable: no reservations
    Return worthiness: yes

    Highlights:
    – Jefecita: fried gooey cheese as the shell for your protein of choice and a large slice of avocado to counteract the bit of greasiness. I ahead get it with carne asada. 5 stars
    – California burrito: my hub’s fave burrito. He loves that they use fries — some places use chunks of potatoes–and no beans. He gets it with carnitas. 5 stars
    – Mulita: thick masa layer with beans and your choice of meat, shredded lettuce, and slices of tomato. It’s huge so I save it for 2 meals. I get it with chile verde and has big chunks of meat and a nice complex yet mellow flavor. 5 stars
    – Quesadilla: solid option cut into pieces. My son likes it with chicken. 4 stars
    – Even though they are so busy, they always get the order right. And we have a bunch of modifications in ours.
    – Now on DoorDash so easier to preorder

    Lowlights:
    – Small so can take a while to get your order and only few tables
