This family run place has been a favorite of our family for nearly 20 years! They always remember us, are friendly, the food is always fast and hot. Best of all it’s delicious! We have some food allergies in our family and their family is so careful to be sure and prepare food exactly how we need it! Best of all, they Don’t use MSG!!

We’ve lived in Benicia for almost thirty years and have always come to this place as long as I can remember, whether it was for a quick lunch, take out, or to celebrate a special occasion. Szechwan House has been there serving Benicia for a very long time. It is a family-owned Chinese restaurant serving home-cooked delicious meals at very reasonable prices. There is no waiting to be seated and their service is very quick, too. They used to have all-you-can-eat buffet during pre-pandemic times but what I really hope and look forward to is someday having dim-sum days. Cindy and her son, Sam, are hard-working owners always doing their best to please all their customers.

ONLY reason I left even a star was because in order to leave a review you have to do 1-5 stars but this place honestly deserves 0 stars! Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The waiter was clearly uninterested in providing service the moment we stepped in, and when he served us our waters they were ALL dripping on the table. He did not address water actively dripping. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, and the water issue was never resolved. Customer service like this is unacceptable, especially when basic concerns are ignored (he known about the water dripping as it was also on his hand as well). NO ONE was in this establishment other than us (no wonder) nor was it busy to say he was under pressure. Either way, his service was unprofessional and unacceptable. We didn’t make it past the drinks (water) that’s how bad it was. NEVER AGAIN.
