This hotel has a wonderful location with doors that open out onto ocean views, a beautiful ocean breeze can move through your room with the door open out onto the cute little porch attached your room.
The room itself is spacious, and clean which is no easy feat with the sand so close. The amenities are up to date and convenient, the lighting in the rooms is abundant. The shower was tall enough for even me.
So then with all of these wonderful things, why is this a 2 star review. Well, if the beds had been humans I would have filed a police report for assault. I have never had a back injury before. I don’t have any back related health issues. I awoke after 2 hour of sleeping feeling like my back had been pummeled by a professional MMA fighter. I “slept”the rest of the night on the floor. I spent hours the next day looking for a place to buy an Air mattress and debating I I should just sleep the next night in my car.
If you stay here. Pack a spare air mattress or cot. Otherwise enjoy your stay.
My Husband and I just stayed here and oh my gosh we absolutely LOVED it! Room was super clean, the shower was honestly incredible- really good water pressure. Beds were comfortable, the porch was lovely-such a fantastic view. Oh! Major thing that mattered to me alot- the room had a recycling bin, which any hotels I’ve ever been to do not have that in the room. We will absolutely come back here,we loved it so much!❤️
We only had one night, and knew we wouldn’t spend much time, so went for a non-view room. It was really large and had lots of amenities. The robes and mugs would have been great if we had an ocean view room to enjoy coffee with a view. The location on the walking path beyond Pudding Creek is a bit quieter but still very accessible. Being able to use the fire pits and tables at the neighboring Beachcomber was also a great bonus. Probably one of the nicer value hotels we stayed at during our road trip.
Excessive price for a room with one king size bed, no bath tub, no a/c, and no breakfast ($230 on Friday night). Parking was very tight. However, the lady at the desk was very nice to me and my five children; she made sure we had an extra cot rolled into our room since no other rooms were available with two beds. The room was very clean and comfortable. Coastal access is less than one mile away from the room.
We drove down from Sacramento 4 hour drive, for my husband’s birthday. Our stay was AMAZING, the views the quietness and listening to the beautiful Pacific Ocean was breathtaking. This little hotel is really a 5 star but hard to get there is why 2 star.
Must do the Skunk Train for history about the Redwood Trees while visiting. State Beach is right next door to hotel. Staff at the hotel was very helpful, room was very clean, beds as well, each building had special names which we thought was cool, just a beautiful quiet town on the Mendocino Coast about 2 hours from Sonoma CA. No ROOM SERVICE Everything closes up by 9pm so make sure you come prepared or eat early.
