I was drawn to this hotel because of its vegan cuisine, but my vacation was so much more meaningful. The food doesn’t disappoint, that’s for sure! I was blown away by the caring staff. Carolina at the front desk went over and above when she saw that i had a broken hand and offered me a her old cast cover. It made a huge difference!
Jennifer, the kitchen manager was there every day to greet us warmly and offer special food items. Dawn at the front desk listened to my long winded stories and shared some of her own. The real treat was having a brief visit with Joan the owner. Her commitment and passion were obvious from the get go. She and her husband have created a wonderful paradise in Mendocino.
I would be remiss if I failed to mention the scenery. I was transported to a dream as I walked along the river looking up at hundred plus year old trees. It felt so soothing to be one with nature. Thank you Joan and Jeff for this gift. We are already planning our return visit!

My husband and I found this place ages ago and always had it on our wishlist. This year we finally booked the trip and I can’t believe we didn’t do it sooner! The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, the grounds are absolutely breathtaking and the location could not be better. You’re less than two minutes from town but tucked back into your own little romantic paradise. It’s the kind of place you can get dressed up and feel like you’re on a never ending date with your partner. Massage 10/10 I actual felt like I was with a true healer, Restaurant 10/10 (special shoutout to Jared who was hands down the BEST waiter we have EVER had, he seemed genuinely excited to be serving us and made me feel excited just to be here. He oozes hospitality and was so lovely and genuine.), THE POOL – heavenly 10/10. I wish I was here for more than a weekend. We spent each night cuddled up by the fire in our room. You could stay here for a LONG time and as long as nature, relaxation and romance is the plan you can’t beat The Stanford Inn just WOW, thank you ALL for putting in the enormous amount of work that it undoubtedly takes to keep this magic alive for others.

We had a wonderful stay in one of the cottages at Stanford Inn! The location is absolutely beautiful and made for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. The food was delicious, with every meal being fresh and thoughtfully prepared. What truly stood out was the amazing hospitality. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, and the service was excellent from start to finish. We highly recommend Stanford Inn and would love to visit again!

I can’t recommend this gorgeous inn enough! It’s a beautiful huge property with the most gracious staff. They welcome all their guests (four-legged ones too!) with personal handwritten notes and yummy sweet potato treats! I want to give a personal shout-out to Scott who was so kind on the phone and helped me when I had an emergency with one of my pups. The food is so creative and delicious (get the sea palm & root vegetable strudel!). Mendocino is lovely and downtown is a very brief drive away. Nature is right outside your door and I’d wake every morning to birds chirping. I can’t wait to come back! (I had a video of a mama woodpecker feeding her baby chick right outside my room! But for some reason Google won’t let me upload it.)

After wanting to go for years, we finally made it to the Stanford Inn and it was wonderful. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Several adorable rescue animals live on the property and they appear well cared for (content and living their best lives). The restaurant and the breakfast were fabulous. The indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna were amazing. We appreciated the personal and homey touches during our stay as well (a hand written welcome note and treats to celebrate our anniversary). This is clearly a family run inn instead of a sterile, corporate run place. Also, the town of Mendocino is super close by and so great (gorgeous views of the ocean, independent stores and restaurants). The whole experience was wonderful and we can’t wait to go back someday.
