Remarkable place. They have a deep commitment to helping wildlife that have fallen afoul of roads and cars, power lines, fishing gear, people, and human food. Not to mention all the myriad diseases and stresses that wildlife deal with daily. And they take these broken, hurt, and sick animal and do their best to bring them back to health, rehabilitate them, and return them back into the wild health again and ready to succeed. Wonderful, committed people there. Consider taking a tour (they’re not open to casually stopping by) and then consider volunteering there.

We found an injured Fox and these guys stayed late and waited for us so we could drop it off. The fox is in decent shape and staff is optimistic on his recovery. Kind and good people

While walking our dog, we saw a baby skunk who was caught in a rat trap. The staff at this Rescue was very helpful and came out immediately. The rescue worker was able to free the skunk from the trap, which had snapped around its neck, then put it in a carrier to take it back to their facility for evaluation and care. My seven-year-old grandson and I stood by and waited for rescue and talked about wildlife and doing the right thing even when it’s hard. Many people just walked on by stared at it and went about their business. It taught my grandson a very great lesson today and the Rescue worker was so great in teaching us about other types of scat poop that they can give you to put around your property to keep those kind of critters away instead of putting them in traps and having them suffer while they die. Thank you very much we hope the baby skunk survives!

These guys are great!!! I found a baby squirrel with his eyes still shut today on the job. I do creek patrol. The little squirrel who I named little buckaroo was on the ground and this guy who was there as I walked up was poking him with a stick. He left when I walked up, I suspect because I’m in my uniform plus I moved in between him and the squirrel, Anyway, I looked around for mama squirrel for about 20 minutes but nothing, so I got gloves and picked him up and put him on a tree which he struggled to hold himself there so I put him in my hand and he curled up.
I searched online and called Sonoma County Wildlife and Rescue and after sending them pictures of the squirrel, which they needed to confirm it was actually a squirrel, they responded with, we need him ASAP, so I headed straight there and and did the intake paperwork, left a donation for his care and I was on my way. They gave me an intake number so I will be able to check up on his progress which I will do. The cool thing is he’s safe and when he’s strong enough and healthy, they will be taking him and releasing him back to the location I found him. I really appreciate SCWR for their services that they do for wildlife
❤️ much love to you guys ❤️
