If you are planning to visit the beautiful town of Mendocino, one of the best places to stay for a few nights or a week is the comfortable Seagull Inn Bed and Breakfast on Albion Street between Lansing and Howard streets. It quickly becomes a home away from home not only because it is so comfortable and quiet, but Ian the owner treats you like a member of his family in all the ways he makes your stay so enjoyable. He knows the local culture well and is happy to share that knowledge with you. You’ll learn about wonderful places to eat and the must-see history and culture of the Mendocino town and its surrounding area. Ask Ian anything that you might be curious about or want to learn about in Mendocino. On top of this, Ian and his staff will bring a delicious organic breakfast and coffee to your room each morning at your chosen time. What a way to start your day! This is probably one of the best B & B’s Mendocino has to offer!

We had two nights in the Sea Urchin room. It was very cute! The space is on the smaller side, but they made good use of it with a fold down writing desk, two chairs, small table, luggage holder, closet w hangers. Seagull has a small garden that we sat in for a bit, and is walking distance to headlands, restaurants, etc. The shower was amazing, full stop, let alone for a historic property. Staff was nice, breakfast was good, and they were able to accommodate us as vegans. I would recommend this inn.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the experience was staying at the Seagull Inn Bed & Breakfast. My partner and I felt right at home from the moment we walked into the lobby area to check in. Ian and Kim welcomed us like we were family. Ian took the time to show us places to visit during our weekend, including restaurant recommendations and hiking trails, all with a personal touch and a bit of humor. Kim was busy preparing breakfast trays for the guests in the morning, but still chimed in with cheerful quips and a smile. The food was delicious and such a great start to our day. The room was cozy and just what we had expected. You can’t beat the location as the ocean was right across the street and everything in the quaint town is walkable. We will definitely stay again and bring our friends and family to enjoy this lovely place.
